I WAS PARKING IN A PARKING GARAGE AND HAD TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO A SPACE WITH CARS ON BOTH SIDES. WHEN I NORMALLY PARK, MY FOOT IS OVER THE BRAKE AND I TAP THE BRAKE AS I GO IN. IN THIS CASE, AS SOON AS I BEGAN TURNING RIGHT, MY CAR TOOK OFF LIKE A SHOT. IT FELT LIKE A CAR BEING FLOORED. I BARELY MISSED ONE OF THE CARS AND SLAMMED INTO A CONCRETE WALL, MAKING A 4 X 6 HOLE IN THE WALL AND SETTING OFF THE AIR BAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CAR WAS SMOKING AND I IMMEDIATELY SHUT IT OFF SO THERE WOULD BE NO FIRE.

The accelerator pedal and the steering wheel were stuck. I turned the car off, but it wouldn’t restart. I SHOULD START BY STATING THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I GOT IT LAST YEAR. AT RANDOM TIMES, WHILE DRIVING, MY VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO GO ABOVE 2500K RPMS, EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. THIS MAY HAPPEN WHILE I AM ON A SLOW ROAD OR, AS TODAY, WHEN I AM ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE I WILL NEED TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR SPEED UP FOR SOME OTHER REASON AND SUDDENLY I HAVE NO POWER. I WILL BE GOING 30MPH AND ENTERING A 70MPH ROADWAY. Shortly after driving an additional 10 miles, the vehicle’s screen malfunctioned, displaying burn-in and becoming non-functional. This issue significantly affects safety, as it renders the backup camera unusable during operation. The vehicle was first brought in for service on March 17, 2025, but the issue was not resolved. Subsequent service attempts were made on March 20, April 9, and most recently on April 11, 2025. As of today, the problem…

I experienced sudden unintended acceleration which propelled me over a curb, up an embankment, over a boulder and into a fence. I could have been killed or I could have killed others because I had no control of the car. The Hyundai corporation will not acknowledge this. The car was inspected and declared a total loss and is being moved to a location where it can be stored at no cost. There was no warning. Also this exact incident occurred with a Hyundai Kona I owned. That incident occurred on January 8, 2026.

TRANSMISSION DOES NOT CONSISTENTLY SHIFT THROUGH GEARS. UNDER ACCELERATION, IT WILL SOMETIMES SHIFT FROM 1-2- NEUTRAL INSTEAD OF GOING INTO 3RD GEAR. IF YOU DEACCELRATE AND THEN TRY TO ACELERATE AS WHEN COMING TO A TURN, THE CAR HAS EXTREME HESITATION AND SOMETIME WILL JUST REV TO 3,000RPM WITHOUT ANY MOVEMENT...AGAIN LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEH. IN 2016, WITH 16,000 + OR - MILES ON THE ODO. WHEN I TURN OFF THE "ECO" MODE, THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS, THOUGH NOT AS OFTEN. I LEFT THE CAR AT VANDERGRIFF HYUNDAI FOR A DAY WITH N.P.F.
