My daughter was driving the car and about to go around a turn when she says her steering locked up and she ran over a curb on the opposite side of the road, popping two tires. She was going slow enough at the time that there were no injuries, only damage to the car. We told the dealership about the incident and had it towed to the dealership. Position of accelerator and brake pedals is dangerous and potentially fatal. The brake pedal is significantly higher than the accelerator, often causing the driver's foot to slip onto the accelerator. Also, braking is difficult due to pedal placement that does not allow natural movement from the accelerator to the brake pedal because the height difference causes the driver's foot to hit the side of the brake, forcing driver to panic, lift leg high, and hope he hits the brake in time to prevent a rear-end collision. The dealer confirmed that the…

I have two serious complaints about this vehicle. I am 5 ft 2 in tall. The seatbelt consistently slides across my neck causing distraction while driving. One would think that manufacturers would have figured this out by now. Almost all vehicles do this to anyone under 5ft 3in tall. Can’t tell me that when they add expensive sensors the seatbelt adjustment would be all that expensive to fix. Also- I have three grandchildren two in car seats one rear facing. It is not safe for me to travel with all three in the backseat. If I’m sideswiped the ol…

VEHICLE ABRUPTLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT KNOCKING MY HANDS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL. VEHICLE WENT UP A CURB AND HIT A RETAINING WALL. I was involved in a multi-car accident in the express lane on a busy fast freeway during rush hour on a Friday night. I was hit hard from the rear, which shoved my car into the car in front of mine, so a double impact. Unknown speed of the driver at fault, but estimate to be at or around the limit of 65mph as traffic was coming to a slower speed and driver did not stop. No indication of my airbags being defective but they did NOT deploy i the accident and I suffered injuries as a result, including a broken rib from the seatbelt. The EMTs at the…

HERE IS A COPY OF MY LETTER TO HYUNDAI DESCRIBING A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW THAT RISKS DRIVER SAFETY: Dear Sirs: I've owned my Venue for just over a year, and overall I like it very much. However, I need to inform you of a major design flaw that can cause serious injuries to the occupants, or worse, cause fatalities. In a nutshell, the at-rest accelerator position is some two inches lower than the brake pedal's. This creates a gap between them, making safe braking extremely difficult. For example, rather than the natural motion of shifting my foo…

I was driving my car on the way back from a trip, about an hour away. While driving about 70 MPH on the highway, my car started to feel like it was lurching forward, and the RPMs started shooting up and down uncontrollably. I tried to write it off as faulty cruise control or the shoes I was wearing, so I switched both of these things. Finally, the RPM shot up to 7000 without warning or cause. I drove 45 mph the rest of the way home as to ensure my safety. No dash lights or warnings had been given to signal that something was wrong with the car.…

Was driving at speed down the highway (70+MPH) for an extended period of time traveling around 1.5 hours and then acceleration started having issues. I wouldn’t change the pressure on the gas but the RPM gage would go up and down wildly although I hadn’t done anything and cause a jerky forward motion. This cued me that something was wrong. Then there was an accident up ahead which caused traffic to come to a stop. When I braked for the complete stop it was a hard brake although I pressed lightly on the brake. Then when I got up to speed again (…

My daughter was driving the car and about to go around a turn when she says her steering locked up and she ran over a curb on the opposite side of the road, popping two tires. She was going slow enough at the time that there were no injuries, only damage to the car. We told the dealership about the incident and had it towed to the dealership. The dealership did not thoroughly address the problem. When I took the car from the dealership I tried to jiggle the keys as I was driving. I had this problem with a Chrysler years ago. Loss of drive power and rough idle. Intermittent no start due to voltage drop. Suspected shorted egr valve causing multiple parts on the same circut to go bad. Brought the car to dealer for the 6th time due to loss of power while driving and rough idle. Asked for a diagnostic of the egr valve due to matching symptoms to the egr recall of the 2024 venue which is the same part number installed in my vehicle. Was informed they can't get it covered under warranty without a code present even if it was faulty. Was sent on my way with a dangerously …
