K Neal International delivered an unsafe school bus to me. The bus leaks when it rains; onto the seats and students. This is a brand new 2023 school bus. Also, my suspension has already begun to leak. NHTSA doesn't have any recall information listed for my VIN, but I've received recall paperwork from IC Bus, LLC/Navistar about a recall on the hex flange lock nut. Why do you, NHTSA, not have this recall listed??? This school bus is unsafe, and K Neal International Navistar needs to be held accountable. Their products and workmanship are f…

K Neal International delivered an unsafe school bus to me. The bus leaks when it rains; onto the seats and students. The stop arm malfunctioned; staying in the open/on position, causing confusion for other drivers. This turned out to be an electrical relay problem. The driver side window has a gap in it large enough for a small animal to get through. When it's windy out, the entry door opens on it's own while driving along. This is a brand new 2023 school bus. Why are these things happening to a supposed brand new bus. Also, my suspensio…
THE BUS WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GETTING UP TO SPEED WHEN THE TRANSMISSION HAD AN ELECTRIC COMPONENT FAIL AND THAT CAUSED THE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE COASTED TO A STOP AND HAD NO WAY TO MOVE THE VEHICLE AT ALL. WE HAVE SISTER BUSES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ALSO BUT IT HAS BEEN AT A PARKING LOT OR IN OUR LOT WE HAVE 5 MORE OF THESE BUSES. IF THIS HAPPENS IN AN INTERSECTION OR APPROACHING AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY THERE IS NO WAY TO MOVE THE BUS OTHER THAN A TOW TRUCK . EATON TRANSMISSION HAS A REPLACEMENT PART TO FIX T…

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that all the parts in the refueling system had been replaced except the fuel tank; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. FUEL SPLASH BACK WHEN FILLING AND MULTIPLE EVAP CODES. IT IS THE FUEL CAP AND DRIVER NEEDS TO PUSH DOWN ON CAP TO SEAT IT, BUT IT CLICKS FOR BEING TIGHT BEFORE IT IS SEATED. IT WILL GIVE A FUEL SMELL ON THE BUS WHEN IT RUNS THE EVAP TEST THEN THE KIDS REPORT IT TO THE DRIVER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WE HAVE MULTIPLE OTHERS THAT WILL SPLASH BACK FUEL WHEN FILLING. THESE ARE ALL GAS POWERED BUSES.

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
