I PURCHASED MY 2017 INFINITI Q50 AS A CERTIFIED DEALER OWNED VEHICLE WITH 4710 MILES ON IT FROM AIRPORT INFINITI ON 12/31/2018. SINCE TAKING POSSESSION OF THE CAR, I HAVE HAD THREE SEPARATE INSTANCES WHERE MY CAR LOST POWER DURING ACCELERATION, IN WHICH ONE OF THE INSTANCES NEARLY CAUSED ME TO BE HIT BY A SEMI-TRUCK WHEN CROSSING A DIVIDED HIGHWAY. I HAVE PROVIDED VIDEOS TO THE MANUFACTURE BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO TAKE ACTION BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SET ANY DTC CODES. WHEN THIS CONDITION HAPPENS MY 3.0T Q50 ACCELERATES EXTREMELY SLOW EV…

I HAVE COMPLAINED TO INFINITI SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE 6 MONTHS I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF LEASING THE CAR THAT WHEN I STEER ALMOST TO A 90 DEGREE ANGLE WHETHER IT BE OUT OF A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN THE CAR LOSES ACCELERATION. THIS HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS, NOT EVERY TIME I TURN, BUT MORE TIMES THAN NONE IT LOSES CONSIDERABLE ACCELERATION WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK. TO ME THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS IN AN OTHER VEHICLE I'VE DRIVEN. INFINITI SAYS IT'S A TRACTION CONTROL ISSUE THAT DISE…

Recently, the turbochargers on my vehicle failed prematurely and had to be replaced. In August 2026, while driving, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration and engine power and would only travel at a very slow speed. The check engine light came on. The driver had to safely stop, turn the engine off, and restart it. After restarting, the vehicle temporarily regained acceleration and normal speed. This problem has occurred more than once and creates a serious safety risk in traffic, especially when merging or crossing intersections. An INFINITI dealer inspected the vehicle and advised that the problem may involve the turbocharger …

The engine and turbo system failed in my 2017 Infiniti Q50 Signature Edition (VIN [XXX] ). The vehicle remains at CarMax Naperville, where it has been since March 2025. Internal repair orders show CarMax performed two failed inspections in August 2020 before selling the vehicle as “CarMax Certified” on September 3, 2020. The vehicle should not have passed certification. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed it was pulling hard to the right. Well Infiniti sent a post card and stated that the emission warranty is extended for 120,000 miles which my vehicle has had the issue for some time and it was already over 120k miles at the time of the loss. The issue Infiniti reported in their postcard is, you may experience issue with the turbocharger, Overtime there is a possibility for the turbocharger thrust bearing to wear and leak oil internally. I took the car into the dealership to diagnose the reason that I was getting a Seat Belt light and they said that the guide suggested to do a zero point reset on the seat. When they attempted this they said that it failed and now the system has an airbag light on. There is no more seat belt light on now for the passanger side, but there is a hard error code for the airbag system on the passenger side. My airbags are currently disabled due to a faulty occupant detection system. I see that this was an Infiniti recall on many2017 Q50s, but my car is not included in the recall. The dealership confirms that my car is not part of the recall. The specific part involved in the recall is the front passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS), which triggers the error code being produced by my car.

I PROCEEDED FROM A STOP SIGN AND ONCE I MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION WHICH WAS LESS THAN A 1/4 MILE THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING ONCE I PULLED IN THE YARD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I LEFT TO GO BACK TO MY HOUSE AND IT STARTED ACTING FINE. I COULD SMELL FULL IN THE CABIN. I WAS COMING HOME ONE NIGHT AND IT DID THE SAME THING EXCEPT THE ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON. THIS IS THE SECOND Q50 THAT HAS DONE THIS. THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO COME GET THE FIRST ONE BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T CRANK.

My vehicle's windshield washer sensor has malfunctioned as it regularly flashes a warning light indicating low washer fluid regardless of the actual washer fluid reservoir level. The persistent warning light on the dash is a constant distraction to the driver. Furthermore, a driver may become ambivalent to the warning light if another system actually malfunctions (or in the case of the washer reservoir actually being low or empty) thus creating a real safety threat. Infiniti vehicle forums as well as my independent mechanic note this proble…
