Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

01V089000 · Wheels:Rim | Tires

Reported: 2001-03-16 (March 16, 2001) · Model years: 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES. THESE MOTOR HOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS." THESE VEHICLES WERE ASSIGNED AN INADEQUATE FRONT AXLE WEIGHT RATING (FAWR). THESE MOTOR HOMES HAVE INADEQUATE TIRES AND RIMS.

Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE PREMATURE FRONT TIRE TREAD WEAR OR TIRE FAILURE DURING NORMAL DRIVING, LEADING TO A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES AND RIMS. FEDERAL TIRE LABELS WILL ALSO BE REPLACED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MARCH 19, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT COUNTRY COACH AT 1-800-452-8015.

02V126001 · Steering:Linkages

Reported: 2002-05-03 (May 3, 2002) · Model years: 2000

CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH CERTAIN DRAG LINKS, TIE RODS AND BALL SOCKET BEARINGS, PART NO. TRW 24 DL, SUPPLIED BY HOLLAND NEWAY AND MANUFACTURED BY TRW. THESE STEERING COMPONENTS HAVE A BELOW SPECIFICATION CASE DEPTH AND/OR HARDNESS WHICH CAN LEAD TO PREMATURE WEAR OUT OF THE SOCKET IN SOME APPLICATIONS.

Consequence: IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THE DRIVER CAN LOSE PARTIAL CONTROL OF THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy: TRW WILL BE NOTIFYING COUNTRY COACH CUSTOMERS AND PROVIDING REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT TRW AT 1-866-280-3287 OR COUNTRY COACH AT 1-800-547-8015.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
