Recall history

8 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

01V044012 · Steering:Linkages:Tie Rod Assembly

Reported: 2001-06-15 (June 15, 2001) · Model years: 1999, 2000

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: COMMERCIAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH TIE ROD ASSEMBLIES CONTAINING 24-DL MODEL BALL SOCKETS AND MANUFACTURED BY TRW. CERTAIN OF THE TIE ROD BALL-SOCKET BEARINGS HAVE A BELOW-SPECIFICATION CASE DEPTH AND/OR HARDNESS, WHICH CAN LEAD TO PREMATURE WEAR OF THE SOCKET.

Consequence: IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THE DRIVER CAN LOSE PARTIAL CONTROL OF THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE BALL SOCKETS AND/OR DRAG LINKS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DURING MAY 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ISUZU AT 800-643-4070, EXT. 428.

01V140003 · Steering:Linkages:Drag:Link:Connection

Reported: 2001-06-15 (June 15, 2001) · Model years: 1999, 2000

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: COMMERCIAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AXLE ASSEMBLIES WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH TRW MODEL 20EDL BALL SOCKETS/DRAG LINKS. THE TIE ROD BALL-SOCKET BEARINGS HAVE A BELOW SPECIFICATION CASE DEPTH AND/OR HARDNESS WHICH CAN LEAD TO PREMATURE WEAR OUT OF THE SOCKET IN SOME APPLICATIONS.

Consequence: IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THE DRIVER CAN LOSE STEERING CONTROL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRAG LINK ASSEMBLIES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DURING MAY 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ISUAU AT 1-800-643-4070, EXT. 428.

02V052001 · Power Train:Clutch Assembly

Reported: 2002-02-12 (February 12, 2002) · Model years: 1999, 2000

CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY TILT CAB TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH THE CLUTCH MASTER-CYLINDER PUSHROD END THAT ATTACHES TO THE CLUTCH PEDAL PIN CAN WEAR PREMATURELY. THE FIRST NOTICEABLE EFFECT OF THIS WEAR COULD BE THE CLUTCH PEDAL NOT RETURNING COMPLETELY TO THE FULL-UP POSITION.

Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE FAST-IDLE ENGINE SPEED CONTROL MAY NOT FUNCTION. IF THE CLUTCH MASTER-CYLINDER PUSHROD END WEARS SUFFICIENTLY TO ALLOW THE ATTACHING END TO BEND OPEN OR BREAK OFF, THE PEDAL PIN WOULD DETACH FROM THE CLUTCH ROD LINK AND THE CLUTCH WOULD ENGAGE. IF CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE TRANSMISSION IN GEAR, AND IF THE BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED, THE VEHICLE COULD MOVE FORWARD IF THE TRANSMISSION WERE IN A FORWARD GEAR, OR REARWARD IF THE TRANSMISSION WERE IN A REVERSE GEAR.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW CLUTCH MASTER-CYLINDER ASSEMBLY AND CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ISUZU AT 1-800-643-4070.

22V362000 · Fuel System, Diesel:Delivery:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings

Reported: 2022-05-20 (May 20, 2022) · Model years: 2022

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain FTR and FVR trucks. The quick connector used to connect the fuel suction hose to the fuel inlet pipe of the engine is too large. The larger diameter of the quick connector may cause inadequate sealing, resulting in a fuel leak. In addition, the gap may cause air to be sucked into the fuel hose while the engine is running.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. Air intake into the fuel hose increases the risk of engine stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the quick connector with the correct size quick connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 24, 2022. Owners may contact Isuzu's customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2201.

Reported: 2022-07-15 (July 15, 2022) · Model years: 2022

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2022 FTR and FVR trucks. A programming error in the ECM software calibration, resulted in the vehicles not having engine braking functionality.

Consequence: Without engine braking, a driver may experience longer stopping distances than expected, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the ECM with the corrected calibration, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 1, 2022. Owners may contact Isuzu's customer service at 1-866- 441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2204.

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2019-2024 FTR, 2020-2024 Chevrolet LCF 6500XD, 2022-2024 FVR, and 2023-2024 Chevrolet LCF 7500XD vehicles equipped with a Mobileye Collision Warning System. The Mobileye camera cable may have been routed improperly, which can result in wiring damage and an overloaded electrical circuit.

Consequence: Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. In addition, wiring damage may cause a loss of turn signal, hazard lights, and/or collision system function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and reroute the Mobileye camera cable or replace the Mobileye camera cable and T-harness, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 08, 2024. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2401.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
