Owner report 11474836 · 2022-07-20 (July 20, 2022)

During routine driving at highway speed, the vehicle’s electronic stability control (ESC) warning light illuminated on the dashboard. Within seconds, the vehicles check engine light (CEL) also illuminated. At that point, the vehicle stalled without battery or engine power via any internal combustion or battery power. I was able to safely coast the vehicle to the side of the road narrowly avoiding any accident. I shut off the vehicle hoping this was some sort of electronic error since the vehicle only had 800 miles. However, when restarting the …

Purchased this Jeep brand new and 2 days later I went to start it in my garage and instrument panel lights all started flashing. It was cycling through all of the error codes with emergency lights flashing and would not start. I let the vehicle sit and after a couple of hours it restarted but the check engine light was on. I test drove the vehicle around the block and it stopped in traffic. Vehicle was towed back to the dealership where it was purchased where it has been since 7/13/2022. Transmission fluid was leaking from the pan excessively. Dealership stated there was a recall on the water sealant, however I do not see any recalls on the website. Brand new 2022 Wrangler Sahara 4xe randomly stalled in traffic. There was about 450 miles on the vehicle. This happened about 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. I've seen that others have been having this issue and there's even a lawsuit regarding this. The correspondence warned that a failure of the fuel pump could result in a catastrophic crash without prior warning. IN MOTION OVER 45MPH, THE JEEP WILL SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE A STEERING WOBBLE THAT CAUSES ALMOST COMPLETE LACK OF CONTROL. TO FIX THE ISSUE, SPEED MUST BE DECREASED TO <10MPH WHICH CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DUE TO TRAFFIC AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. PROBLEM IS REPRODUCIBLE ON ALL ROADS AND IN ALL CONDITIONS. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT THE DRIVER IS LEFT WITH 10% CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND LEFT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

I restarted the vehicle and a “please service charging system error” displayed along with a red turtle error light. The vehicle would not travel more than 5mph. I had to park it and have my husband come look at it. It’s scary to think this could have easily happened on a busy highway. Being a hybrid vehicle it was fully charged from the night before.

Vehicle would not start. Drove to a distant High School. Parked. Went to leave and the vehicle will not start. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. I have been advised that it is a Hybrid Engine Coupling. There were no warning lights.

We ordered in April 2022, a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara plug-in hybrid, arriving late May 2022. In mid-June 2024, when starting the Jeep, it went into "limp" or "safe" mode. The Samsung EV battery was fully charged, indicating a 99% charge available, which translates to an approximate 24 mile range on the EV motor. The check engine light (CEL) came on as well as a "charging system failure" message came on in the center of the message center. The Jeep dealership in Temecula, CA, received the Jeep, which would only operate on the Internal Combu…

While driving my vehicle shut off and steering wheel locked up making the vehicle inoperable. Thankfully I was close to home on a side street.

I have a 2022 Wrangler 4xe. This weekend I rear ended a car in stop and go traffic. When I used the brake it actually felt like the car jumped forward a bit. I had to stomp on the brake pedal again as if my first attempt had no grab. More details...I was in hybrid mode with <1% battery status and max regen was on. I was going less than 10 miles an hour. Jeep has a max regeneration function that uses the engine to generate an EV battery recharge. I understand that the max regen sort of turns off when you are rolling at really low speeds, b…

The vehicle experienced multiple serious fuel system failures, including a failed fuel injector and high-pressure fuel pump. After these components were replaced, it was confirmed that fuel was still entering the engine crankcase. At no point did the vehicle trigger a “Check Engine” light, oil dilution warning, low oil pressure alert, or any hybrid/electric powertrain. This represents a critical safety & reliability issue. Fuel dilution of engine oil can: severely degrade lubrication, increase crankcase pressure, and/or lead to internal engine …
