THIS DEVELOPED AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP (BOUGHT NOVEMBER 2011) 2) SLUGGISH ACCELERATION AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING WHEN VEHICLE IS COLD. IN MOTION OVER 45MPH, THE JEEP WILL SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE A STEERING WOBBLE THAT CAUSES ALMOST COMPLETE LACK OF CONTROL. TO FIX THE ISSUE, SPEED MUST BE DECREASED TO <10MPH WHICH CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DUE TO TRAFFIC AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. PROBLEM IS REPRODUCIBLE ON ALL ROADS AND IN ALL CONDITIONS. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT THE DRIVER IS LEFT WITH 10% CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND LEFT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

After Recall 68C was performed, the vehicle lost meaningful electric-only operation. This is not FORM. The gasoline engine now intervenes during routine Electric-mode driving with adequate charge. The dealer/manufacturer has not restored the vehicle’s advertised PHEV functionality. Visited dealer to document, and dealer did not charge vehicle and test to see. They instead scanned for codes and said no codes returned.

My 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe High Altitude received FCA Recall 68C. Since the recall was completed, the vehicle has experienced repeated and unpredictable reductions in available propulsion during normal driving. The problem is most noticeable when accelerating to merge onto highways, enter traffic, or pass slower vehicles. During these situations, I depress the accelerator expecting normal acceleration, but the vehicle frequently provides significantly reduced power. There is a noticeable delay before the gasoline engine produces sufficient propu…

I was able to pull off of the interstate and got a few blinking messages. The only one I remember was "Shift to P to Start". I could not accelerate at all and probably had less than a minute to get to safety before the car coasted to a stop and I was forced to put the car in park and turn it back on. It seemed like a forced restart on a computer but you could not choose the time or place to do it and ther…

Following 2nd battery recall, acceleration, especially with the electric on, is sluggish and then suddenly electric fails and gas engine kicks in with a lurch. Electric no longer has the power it did prior to the recall and this provides uncertain acceleration for entering freeway from onramps or during other periods of needed acceleration.

Our jeep is a leased vehicle with approx 5,200 miles. While riding on the highway going approx 65 mph the vehicle began to death wobble causing the driver to nearly lose control of the car. We were on a 4 lane interstate that could have resulted in a severe accident had the driver actually lost control. With so few miles on the vehicle there is no reason other than a manufacturing defect that would explain how this vehicle could already be experiencing death wobble, a known issue with jeeps

On October 27th, my Jeep started shaking violently as I was driving on the highway. I brought the Jeep to the dealership, they test drove it, and the mechanic did not experience the shaking so I was told “that’s just what Jeeps do”. I then researched Jeep shaking and found the Death Wobble is a common problem among Jeeps and there are several ways to fix it. I took my Jeep back to the dealership, they once again test drove it and could not replicate the wobble. They said I could leave it there and they could continue to drive it daily to f…

I have several issues. 1. An independent auto shop noticed all 4 of my shocks were leaking when they did an oils change and tire rotation recently. I have had my other oil changes and rotations at the dealership prior to this and they never mentioned it. I’ve tried calling my dealership svc dept. about it 4 times now with no call backs. 2. The new tires that came with my jeep from the factory only lasted about half their treadwear. I had to replace prematurely at 30,000 miles bc they were causing a “deathwobble” on my jeep at speeds of 6…

Two days into driving my brand-new Jeep I experienced the death wobble and lost control of my steering wheel on the freeway. I took it to the dealer they replaced the damper. But it happened again where I didn't have control but it didn't shake I just had to get off the freeway once I it stopped hydroplaning without it raining. The steering wheel is not straight and on different types of roads the car drifts and wanders. I am terrified of driving it on the freeway.

When operating the vehicle about ~50mph, and if you drive over a pothole, or bump in the road, the frontend of the vehicle wobble/vibrate uncontrollably. I purchased the vehicle new from the dealer, have not made any modifications, and they (the dealer) is telling me the tires are the source of the "death wobble" problem. While driving on the freeway, the car showed a message saying “performance issue” and lost power. I couldn’t accelerate and the car stopped. I couldn’t power on or down the car. It looked like an alternator issue and it wasn’t giving enough power to the battery. AAA arrived hour and half later. Tried to jump but it didn’t do anything. Finally had to tow the car to the nearest dealership. The car is not even a year old and has less than 10k miles. Its a safety issue being stuck like that without any warning signs at middle of the freeway!

Following 2nd battery recall, acceleration, especially with the electric on, is sluggish and then suddenly electric fails and gas engine kicks in with a lurch. After a recent recall (68C) the vehicle performance has greatly deteriorated. The ELEC mode propulsion has been limited, the internal combustion engine (ICE) engages much sooner than previous. Instead of a 'warm-up' cycle for the ICE, it feels as though there is actual clutch engagement, but with limited power. I feel this could have the potential to accelerate engine wear with a 'cold' engine with rapid engagement, as well as increased fuel/oil dilution (inherent with direct injection turbo engines).
