THIS MOTORCYCLE IS VERY PRONE TO STALLING WHILE COLD, AND ALSO AFTER IT HAS SAT IN THE SUN FOR A FEW HOURS OR IF THE TEMPERATURE IS HOT OUTSIDE. IF COLD, IT'LL GRUMBLE AND REALLY NOT WANT TO START, MAY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IF HOT, IT IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE IT WILL START FINE, NO INDICATION OF AN ISSUE, BUT THEN AFTER YOU HAVE DRIVEN A FEW HUNDRED FEET, PULL IN THE CLUTCH TO SLOW, THE BIKE WILL STALL. THIS WILL HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL YOU'RE DOWN THE ROAD A FEW MILES. I ALMOST CRASHED BECAUSE OF THIS A FEW TIMES WHILE ON A TURN,…

I WAS RIDING AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH WHEN I CAME TO A STOP SIGN. AS I SLOWED DOWN AND SQUEEZED THE CLUTCH LEVER IN TO DOWNSHIFT THE ENGINE INSTANTLY CUT OFF AND THE IDLE NEEDLE DROPPED FROM ABOUT 3000 RPM TO ZERO INSTANTLY. THE BIKE THEN FELT REALLY LIGHT BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS CUT OFF AND IT WAS LIKE I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE BIKE. LUCKILY NO CARS WERE BEHIND OR IN FRONT OF ME OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A POSSIBLE COLLISION. *TR

While riding home on June 7 2025 on I64 West between Parham Rd and Gaskins Rd exits, my Kawasaki ZX-6R lurched while travelling around 70 mph at approximately 11:30PM. Engine RPM rose slightly during the lurch, afterwhich there was a noticeable drop in engine power. The engine continued to run, so I rode it off of the I64 Gaskins Rd exit, and it was only after I was on Gaskins Rd that the exhaust noise was noticeably louder, as if running on only a single cylinder instead of four. THE MOTOR REQUIRES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START WHEN COLD. WHEN THE MOTOR IS AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE THE ENGINE WILL NOT START UNLESS THE THROTTLE IS HELD OPEN. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW RPMS INTERMITTENTLY THE ENGINE WILL DIE WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED, SPEED IS NOT A FACTOR CONSIDERING IT HAS HAPPENED AS SLOW AS 15 MPH (ALMOST RESULTING IN A CRASH) AND HAS HAPPENED AS FAST AS 45 MPH (ALMOST RESULTING IN ME GETTING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE). *TR

Unknown. Fatal motorcycle accident. Based on the police report, one witness said he blew a tire and all witnesses state that he and the bike went airborn. The motorcycle was part of the group of ZX6R's recalled by Kawasaki though its since been salvaged. A recall has been issued and the motorcycle deemed unsafe to ride. My local dealership has been told to expect at minimum 3 weeks to receive the kit required to conduct the inspection. This issue has been so widespread that the wait time will be substantial. Even then, there will be a substantial loss of resale value as well as risk of further malfunctions after having a local mechanic disassemble and reassemble the engine.

THE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER FAILED, CAUSING THE MOTORCYCLE TO STALL WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP (FORTUNATELY NOT WHILE MOVING) LOOKED UP VIN AND CONFIRMED WITH KAWASAKI THAT THIS MOTORCYCLE IS SUPPOSEDLY NOT ONE OF THE EFFECTED BIKES BUT AM FAIRLY CONVINCED THAT ONE OF THE FAULT PARTS WAS USED FOR THIS BIKE TOO. A NEW BIKE WITH LESS THAN 9000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM! ODDLY SUSPICIOUS THAT THE PART THAT FAILED IS THE PART THAT IS UNDER RECALL FOR OTHER BIKES OF THE SAME MODEL MANUFACTURED THE SAME YEAR. BELIEVING THAT RECALL SHOULD BE E…

The engine on my 2022 Kawasaki ZX6R suddenly failed while I was riding on the highway, which caused the motorcycle to lose power abruptly. The component that failed was the engine assembly, and Kawasaki later acknowledged that the failure was due to the same defect currently affecting the 2024–2025 models under an active recall. The engine is currently at a Kawasaki dealership waiting for Kawasaki corporate to figure out what to do with the recalls. This malfunction put my safety and the safety of others at serious risk. I was riding at highw…

I continued to ride until I reached the intersection of Ridgefie…

I WAS HEADED TO WORK. I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN TOWARD THE INTERSTATE THEN MY DASH WENT BLANK. I TRIED TO GIVE THE BIKE GAS AND IT JUST BOGGED DOWN THEN IN JERKED ME FORWARD THEN IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TRIED TO CUT THE BIKE ON AND IT WOULD TURN OVER THE STARTER. SO THAT FOLLOWING WEEK I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW BATTERY I PUT IT IN THE BIKE IT FIRED UP QUICKLY BUT I DIDN'T RIDE LONG JUST AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES. THE NEXT DAY I TRIED TO RIDE AND THE DASH WENT BLANK AGAIN THEN THE BIKE CUT OFF ON ME AGAIN. *TR

I own a 2024 Kawasaki KRT ABS ZX6R. They want to do an inspection that will not be sufficient to ride my motorcycle safely. The absolute only way for Kawasaki to do that would be to open the engine up to where they could see the actual crank shaft. I feel we are all being jerked around with this. They won't be able to deem it safe simply by inspecting the outer bearing. My motorcycle doesn't even have 300 miles on it. I haven't been able to ride it for almost a month now. It sitting can cause further damage. I'm not sure if my State of Nevada w…
