Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V109000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Integrated Jack/Leveler/Stabilizer

Reported: 2018-02-14 (February 14, 2018) · Model years: 2018

Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp. (Lance) is recalling certain 2018 recreational trailers, models 1475, 1575, 1685, 1995, 2185, 2285, 2295, 2375 and 2465, equipped with a Smart-Jack model power tongue jack. The laminated plastic touch pad on the jack may crack or separate allowing water to enter, potentially causing the jack to operate unintentionally.

Consequence: If the jack retracts or extends unintentionally, it can increase the risk of injury to those within the trailer or increase the risk of a crash if the jack moves while the trailer is being towed.

Remedy: Lance will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power tongue jack, free of charge. The recall began on March 1, 2018. Owners may contact Lance customer service at 1-661-949-3322.

22V201000 · Equipment:Appliance:Electric Water Heater

Reported: 2022-03-28 (March 28, 2022) · Model years: 2022

Lance Camper Manufacturing. Corp. (Lance Camper) is recalling certain 2022 Lance 1685, 1985, 1995, 2185, and 2445 travel trailers. The data cable may be routed through the cold water inlet, causing the cable to rest on the burner box.

Consequence: A data cable resting on a burner box can short, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will reroute the data cable, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 22, 2022. Owners may contact Lance Camper customer service at 1-661-949-3322.

THIS IS A NEW TRAVEL TRAILER AND THE RV WAS STATIONARY. MAIN CIRCUIT TRIPPED FREQUENTLY AND I SMELLED BURNING WIRING. AC AND MICROWAVE WOULD NOT WORK. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE BUT FORTUNATELY IT DID NOT. ANOTHER LANCE OWNER WE MET LAST FEBRUARY HAD A SHORT CIRCUIT IN HIS BR LIGHT THEIR LANCE 1995 RV TRAILE. This 2016 Lance model 1995 travel trailer which I purchased new developed frame sag, which appears to have been fairly common in the 2016 model based upon a query of the Lance Owner's Association. The sag progressed to the point where the occupancy door of the trailer was very difficult to open unless a scissor jack (not part of the trailer equipment) was placed under the rear frame to temporarily correct this each time the trailer was parked. My concern is that anyone cooking inside the trailer with a resultant fire may not be able to leave …

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
