YOU PRESS THROTTLE AND IT DOES NOTHING FOR LIKE 2 SECONDS THEN SUDDENLY ENGINE PICKS UP... ITS A GASOLINE V6 ENGINE SO ITS NOT TURBO LAG.... ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING MY LAND ROVER DISCOVERY I NOTICED THERE WAS A LAG TIME WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHEN MAKING A TURN. Dash and gages indicated all electrical systems were on and no warning symbols were displayed. Repeated attempts by owner to start vehicle failed. Car displayed a warning noting of an “an electrical fault” but was still running fine otherwise. Drove straight to service center roughly 5 miles away. About a half a mile away from service center the car experienced a cascading number faults in quick succession. First it was safety systems, then air suspension, followed by transmission and finally steering, which point the car was able to roll and some steering though required significant effort. This occurred during traffic, where luckily i had just gotten off the highway. I was able to coast…

I was in a parking lot adjusting settings via the touch screen when the vehicle suddenly deactivated the key fob rendering the vehicle useless. The only option was to get the spare key to start the vehicle. This presents a safety issue for all occupants if the vehicle is disabled because of a malfunction with the key, potentially leaving people stranded in a unsafe environment.

WHEN VEHICLE IS UNDER 10 MILES AN HOUR OR BRIEFLY STOPPED AND PRESSURE IS REMOVED FROM ACCELERATOR, WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR TO MOVE AGAIN THERE IS A 1-2 SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE IN WRONG GEAR THEN SHIFTS AFTER A DELAY RESULTING IN CAR NOT RESPONDING TO THROTTLE INPUT THEN JUMPING UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS VEHICLE HAS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION WHEN ACCELERATING AWAY FROM AN INTERSECTION, WHETHER STOPPED OR AT A LOW SPEED, THERE IS A SERIOUS LAG BEFORE ACCELERATION KICKS IN AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. IT'S LIKE THE VEHICLE IS WAITING (WAY) TOO LONG TO DOWNSHIFT AND PULL AWAY, AND WANTS INSTEAD TO SLOOOOOOOWLY BUILD SPEED WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE AT INTERSECTIONS. THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO FLOOR IT, RESULTING IN UNSAFE AND JERKY ACCELERATION.

THE WATER SO FAR HAS TOUCHED THE A-PILLAR AIRBAG, THE SAFETY CAMERAS ON THE WINDSHIELD AND OTHER ELECTRICAL WIRING. ADDITIONALLY THE WATER FINDS ITS WAY TO THE CARPETING ON THE FLOOR. IN ONE OCCASION TODAY (1/8/2020) WATER SPILLED INTO MY HEAD FROM RIGHT ABOVE THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR WHILE I WAS TAKING AN EXIT RAMP. THIS GOT ME DISTRACTED FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS, ALMOST RUNNIN…

BOUGHT CAR LAST MAY, 2019, AND WITHIN FOUR MONTHS WAS BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. WATER GOT INSIDE MY VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WITH WATER EVERYWHERE INSIDE, INCLUDING THE DASHBOARD, SCREEN AND MAIN CONSOLE. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FROM THE WINDOW RECALLS, BUT MINE NEVER WAS RECALLED. THEY SAID THE SEALS WHERE FAULTY. FAULTY ENGINE O2 SENSOR (THREE FAULTY CODES) RIGHT WHEN I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM MY WINDSHIELD REPAIR. TURNED AROUND AND DROPPED CAR BACK OFF. CAMERA SYSTEM FAULT MESSAGE WAS ON THE SCREEN. THE BACK LEFT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WHEN I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR IT WOULD NOT SHUT, IT WOULD SPRING OPEN AND NOT LATCH. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED ONE MONTH AGO AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIMED THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THEY ALLEGED TO HAVE DONE A RESET WHICH THEY UNDERSTOOD WOULD SOLVE THE SAFETY ISSUE. YESTERDAY, APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER, IT OCCURRED AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN ROADWAY WITH MANY CARS AROUND ME AND I NOTICED TH…

THERE'S A WATER-PROOFING DEFECT WITH THE DISCOVERY LAND ROVER (AT LEAST 2017-2019). I PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED NEW A 2017 DISCOVERY NEW, AND WATER ENTERED FROM THE ROOF AND WINDSHIELD AND THE DEALER REPLACED IT WITH A 2019. SAME ISSUE IS OCCURRING - WITH RAIN WATER ENTERING FROM WINDSHIELD AND ROOF AND FLOODING INTERIOR OF CAR. APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING THAT CAUSES SAFETY ISSUES AS WATER IS LITERALLY DRIPPING ON THE DRIVER AND FRONT INTERIOR WHILE I DRIVE THE CAR.

JLRNA has identified my vehicle as unsafe to drive due to bonding delamination of the front windshield. As a result, the windshield had water egress. The service department has deemed my vehicle unsafe to drive as the windshield may not be properly bonded to the vehicle body, allowing it to loosen or detach during a crash. I am aware of multiple vehicles, including mine, currently waiting for replacement windshields at the dealership with no known ETA for replacement or repair of the windshield. This is a historical issue that JLRNA was ordere…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
