TIRE FAILED, VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE AND ROLLED OVER GAS TANK INTEGRITY FAILED, GAS SPLILLED AND IGNITED. MY SEVEN YEAR OLD SON WAS BURNED TO DEATH, MY 2 YEAR OLD, MY WIFE AND MYSELF SENT TO HOSPITAL WITH THIRD DEGREE BURNS. LAND ROVER OFFICIALS AGREED TO A RECALL TO PREVENT THE PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. RECALL WAS TO TAKE PLACE BY APRIL 2003. IT HAS NOT. I BELIEVE THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY DRAGGING THEIR FEET TO SAVE A FEW PENNIES AND ARE PUTTING OTHER LAND ROVER OWNERS AT RISK IN THE MEANTIME.*AK

I was in a parking lot adjusting settings via the touch screen when the vehicle suddenly deactivated the key fob rendering the vehicle useless. The only option was to get the spare key to start the vehicle. This presents a safety issue for all occupants if the vehicle is disabled because of a malfunction with the key, potentially leaving people stranded in a unsafe environment.

WHEN VEHICLE IS UNDER 10 MILES AN HOUR OR BRIEFLY STOPPED AND PRESSURE IS REMOVED FROM ACCELERATOR, WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR TO MOVE AGAIN THERE IS A 1-2 SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE IN WRONG GEAR THEN SHIFTS AFTER A DELAY RESULTING IN CAR NOT RESPONDING TO THROTTLE INPUT THEN JUMPING UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS VEHICLE HAS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION WHEN ACCELERATING AWAY FROM AN INTERSECTION, WHETHER STOPPED OR AT A LOW SPEED, THERE IS A SERIOUS LAG BEFORE ACCELERATION KICKS IN AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. IT'S LIKE THE VEHICLE IS WAITING (WAY) TOO LONG TO DOWNSHIFT AND PULL AWAY, AND WANTS INSTEAD TO SLOOOOOOOWLY BUILD SPEED WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE AT INTERSECTIONS. THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO FLOOR IT, RESULTING IN UNSAFE AND JERKY ACCELERATION.

THERE'S A WATER-PROOFING DEFECT WITH THE DISCOVERY LAND ROVER (AT LEAST 2017-2019). I PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED NEW A 2017 DISCOVERY NEW, AND WATER ENTERED FROM THE ROOF AND WINDSHIELD AND THE DEALER REPLACED IT WITH A 2019. SAME ISSUE IS OCCURRING - WITH RAIN WATER ENTERING FROM WINDSHIELD AND ROOF AND FLOODING INTERIOR OF CAR. APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING THAT CAUSES SAFETY ISSUES AS WATER IS LITERALLY DRIPPING ON THE DRIVER AND FRONT INTERIOR WHILE I DRIVE THE CAR.

JLRNA has identified my vehicle as unsafe to drive due to bonding delamination of the front windshield. As a result, the windshield had water egress. The service department has deemed my vehicle unsafe to drive as the windshield may not be properly bonded to the vehicle body, allowing it to loosen or detach during a crash. I am aware of multiple vehicles, including mine, currently waiting for replacement windshields at the dealership with no known ETA for replacement or repair of the windshield. This particular vehicle comes with a plastic coolant water outlet. When the plastic melts, it causes the coolant system to fail, and the engine will overheat. The plastic can only withstand heat up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Most engines run at 195-220. There was no reason for the manufacturer to use this type of plastic. Over 1,000 aftermarket coolant water outlets have been sold as a replacement for the manufacturer's part. There is a class action lawsuit for the faulty coolant water outlet. [XXX] v. The windshield failed allowing rain water to pool in the floorboards of the vehicle. The electronics were destroyed, the damage done was well above $20,000.00. Land Rover didn’t take any responsibility as it was 40 days outside of warranty. The car had less than 40,000 miles on it. Likely my insurance kicked in and declared the vehicle a total loss.

The windshield had previously been replaced under a manufacturer recall/service action, but that repair failed. Water intrusion caused failure of the Occupant Restraint Control Module (RCM), impairing airbag system functionality. Water also damaged the audio amplifier and other electronic components.
