I feel there has been a mistake on the Vin number range. However, Lexus refuses to handle the issue under the recall since the VIN number does not trigger as such.

My car has had issues where the car will either not start, or the car will stall and turn off while I am driving on the road, causing my car to become a hazard for myself in the car, and other cars who have to avoid it being in the middle of the road. I then took it to the nearest Lexus dealership and after a few days they identified the problem as a malfunctioning High Pressure Fuel Se…

I've owned my 2014 Lexus IS 250 for over 10 years. I've almost always kept my car covered in a garage at work and at home, and I've never had a problem with the dashboard until now. Just last month (October 2025), my dashboard started melting and getting extremely shiny and sticky during the day - so much so that I can't see out my front windshield because of the glare from the shiny dashboard, making it very dangerous to drive. After my car is out of the sun for a while (like my garage), the dashboard eventually cools down and is no longer shi…

The dashboard on our vehicle has started to "melt." While there was a warranty enhancement program in the past (we did not receive notice), the problem has developed after the window for repair closed. This is a true safety issue now as visibility from the front windshield is hindered due to reflection. The dealer has asked us to contact Lexus and Lexus will not help us anymore, stating this is an out of pocket repair. DASHBOARD HAS MELTED WITH A LIQUID APPEARANCE. WHEN THE SUN IS HIGH IN THE SKY, A REFLECTION CAUSES A SEVERE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER SO FAR HAS JUST STATED WE SHOULD GET THE DASH REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE, BUT THIS DOES NOT SEEM LIKE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED ON A LUXURY CAR AFTER ONLY 5 OR 6 YEARS. TAKATA RECALL. I BOUGHT MY CAR ONLY TWO YEARS AGO AFTER MY FIRST LEXUS LASTED ME UPWARDS OF 350,000 MILES. KEEPING THIS IN MIND I FOUND MY 2007 IS250. THERE IS A VERY CHEMICAL SMELL COMING FROM MY DASHBOARD, IT FEELS AND PEELS OFF LIKE THE FOAM UNDER IT. IT GETS RIPPED AND TORN TO SHREDS FROM VERY LITTLE FRICTION. BRAKE IS VERY SLUGGISH AND ALMOST NON EXISTENT WHEN IT FAILS. LET IT SET, CLEAR FAULT AND RUNS FINE UNTIL WARM AGAIN.
