THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON IN THE DASH INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ALSO INDICATES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF. THE LIGHT WAS COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, BUT NOW IT COMES ON 90% OF THE TIME AS SOON AS I START MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND IT COST ME $100 JUST FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT. THE DEALER STATES IT COULD NEED A NEW SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR POWER SOURCE WHICH IS $650. THEY ARE NOT SURE IF IT WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM OR REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PARTS. MY 9 YEAR OLD SON NEARLY STRANGLED IN FRONT OF HIS SISTER AND TWIN SIBLINGS (5 YEARS OLD) WHEN THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT OF THE THIRD ROW GOT TANGLED AROUND HIS NECK. THIS SEATBELT HANGS FROM THE CEILING. I COULD NOT DISLODGE THE BELT FROM AROUND HIS NECK, AS IT WAS NOT OBVIOUS HOW TO DISENGAGE THE CEILING LATCH. WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE TO STOP A PASSING CAR, RETRIEVE A PAIR OF SCISSORS AND CUT THE BELT TO FREE MY SON. HE WAS ON THE VERGE OF PASSING OUT FROM LACK OF OXYGEN. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A FREEWAY WITH NO CARS AROUND ME. I HEAR A LOUD BANG ON MY ROOF, AND THEN HEAR CRACKING. TURNS OUT THAT MY SUNROOF WAS BROKEN, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING AROUND ME TO CAUSE THIS. WHEN TRYING TO GET HOME, THE WINDOW SUBSEQUENTLY SHATTERED. I TOOK THIS INTO THE DEAL AND THEY FIXED IT PROMPTLY. MY ISSUE IS THAT THIS APPARENTLY IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH NEW SUNROOFS, AND YET THIS PRODUCT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO FIX MY SUNROOF, AND FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS. IN FACT, I HAVE HEARD THAT LEXUS IS…

WHILE DRIVING AT A SNOW STORM (LAKE TAHOE AREA, HWY 50), I HAD TO STOP EVERY 10-15 MINUTES TO CLEAR MY HEADLIGHTS, WHICH WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY COVERED BY SNOW. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. ALMOST ZERO VISIBILITY, NOWHERE TO STOP SAFELY... LED HEADLIGHTS DO NO PRODUCE ENOUGH HEAT TO MELT THE SNOW. LEXUS PROBABLY FIXED IT AT 2018/2019 MODEL YEARS AND USED HEATING AT THE HEADLIGHTS. BUT OLDER MODEL YEARS (2016, MAYBE ALSO 2017) ARE VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT SNOW.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison
