TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE STEERING ABILITY SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR SUB-MOUNT FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I DON'T KNOW IF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. MAYBE IF THE ENGINE WAS TO STALL OR QUIT AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF CONTROL, THEN PERSONAL LIABILITY WOULD BE A FACTOR. *AK
VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO ERRATIC OPERATION. VEHICLE HAS A TENDENCY TO STALL OR HESITATE WITH NO PARTICULAR FAIL PATTERN. FUEL FILTERS HAVE BEEN CHANGED ALONG WITH FUEL PUMP AND OTHER ITEMS.*AK.*NLM
BEGAN NOTICING GAS SMELL IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AT HIGHER AIR TEMPURATURES. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM WITH VAPOR RETURN LINE AND REPAIRED USING A "VAPOR RETURN KIT" PROVIDED BY FORD-LINCOLN. WAS TOLD THAT PROBLEM OCCURRED MOST OFTEN AT HIGH AIR TEMPERATURES. TOTAL REPAIR COST WAS $329.30 (PARTS AND LABOR). I FEEL THAT THE GAS SMELL POSED A SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND OCCUPANTS; THAT IT REPRESENTS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT; AND EFFECTS MANY VEHICLES.
A WIRE GROUNDED IN THE FUEL TANK, CAUSING FIRES INSIDE THE TANK. WIRING NEEDS TO BE REWIRED. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLES GAS TANK TO EXPLODE. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE.

THE FRONT HOOD VIBRATES AS IF IT'S GETTING READY TO UNLATCH AS YOUR DRIVING AT 70 M.P.H. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND SCARY.

SYNC3 WAS PROGRAMMED TO DISPLAY MAP ON STARTUP BUT RECENTLY CAME UP WITH DIFFERENT SETUP. ALL OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. BEGAN 12/11/2018 UNTIL PRESENT. *TR
I am not aware of an accident involving this defect. I am reporting a safety concern that occurred to me after I bought the car. All door controls(inside and out) are electronic. Doors are electronically opened by pressing a button. In the event of a crash that disables the electric system, occupants would be trapped in a locked car with no way to open the door. For this apparent reason, the driver's side door has a very small mechanical lever low on the driver's side door panel that will open the door in case of electrical failure. Howev…
UNEXPLAINED CRACK IN WINDSHIELD. CRACK APPEARED WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL OBJECT STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 70S AND NOT FREEZING TEMPERATURES ALL YEAR (LIVING IN FRESNO CA). NOT SURE WHEN IT HAPPENED, BUT I NOTICED IT WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 7 MILES.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

THIS LINCOLN NOW HAS 147,000 MILES ON IT . THE HEAD GASKETS ARE LEAKING AGAIN, THEY WERE REPLACED 2 TIMES ALREADY. GETTING CHECK DCL LIGHT, BUZZER ALL THE TIME, THIS WAS FIXED ONCE ALREADY. A/C STILL BLOWS HOT AIR. I WILL NEVER BUY A LINCOLN AGAIN.. I HAVE SPENT TO MUCH MONEY FIXING FORDS REACURRING PROBLEMS.
IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE 1992 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL EXECUTIVE SERIES HAS MANY PROBLEMS. I COULD NOT EVEN SELL IT TO A USED CAR DEALER DUE TO ITS KNOWN DEFECTS. REAR AIR SUSPENSION BLEW OUT (BOTH AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING) HEAD GASKET IN AN ENGINE THAT GETS IT'S OIL CHANGED EVERY 3000 MILES OR SO. FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY READY TO FALL OFF. VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED. AIR CONDITIONING THAT COMPLETELY BECAME DISFUNCTIONAL.
AIR RIDE CONTROL SYSTEM WENT OUT, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SWAY DOWN TO ROAD. HEAD GASKET BLEWOUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS RUNNING HOT. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEMS. *AK
