WHILE DRIVING THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND CHECK BRAKE FLUID WARNING ALERTED ME, AS I WAS LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PULL OVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND NO BRAKES WERE PRESENT. I HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AFTER STOPPING I OPENED THE HOOD TO CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF A LEAK UNDER VEHICLE OR INSIDE ENGINE BAY. IT APPEARS TO BE A TOTAL FAILURE OF THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER AS NOTED IN HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS FORD LINCOL…

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CHECK BRAKES LIGHT CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH A LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING. I WENT TO PUSH THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LUCKILY, I WAS DRIVING SLOW ENOUGH IN A LOW TRAFFIC AREA THAT I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF A BRAKE FLUID LEAK AND THE VEHICLE RECEIVED REGULAR SERVICE (OIL, FLUIDS, TIRE ROTATION ETC.) LESS THAN A MONTH PRIOR AT A FORD DEALERSHIP. The speedometer remained at zero and the whole thing happened again in a few seconds. problem is when you go to check the oil do you think you’re gonna find a low oil situation and what happens is the oil is actually overfilled however it’s not overfilled because you put too much oil in it. It’s overfilled because gasoline is leaking into the oil pan. So the oil is diluted and it actually doesn’t even seem like oil. It seems like dirty gas. That’s how much gas gets into it. During the winter snow and ice collects on the running board while driving and makes it incredibly slippery to step on for the driver and passengers. There is a setting to change the position of the running board but it does not move the running board. It has been inoperable for the past 6-8 months now.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

After a moment, the transmission dropped into first gear (it felt like) and the rear tires made loud screeching noises as if they locked up for about one second. The speedometer remained at zero and the whole thing happened again in a few seconds. LOCAL FORD DEALER SAID THEY CLAIM IT IS CONDENSATION IN THE 3.5L ECOBOOST TURBO HOUSING. OFF THE RECORD SOME RECOMMEND DRILLING A WEEPING HOLE TO DRAIN LIQUID. LOOKING FOR A BETTER SOLUTION.

My brake system failed while driving. I had just left a parking lot when the braking system warning light came on. Coinciding with this the brake pedal pressure got much lighter with each press. Since I was within a mile of home I drove there and by the time I got home the pedal was going to the floor. I checked under the hood and there was no fluid in the brake reservoir. I did not see any leaks. I refilled the reservoir and let it sit overnight. The next day the fluid was gone again from the reservoir, no leaks around the vehicle. I had it to…
