Recall history

6 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V810000 · Tires

Reported: 2018-11-15 (November 15, 2018) · Model years: 2019

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2019 Mack Granite (GR), LR, and TerraPro (TE) trucks, equipped with Bridgestone M854 tires with DOT date codes 2418-2518, Bridgestone M860A tires with DOT date code 2518 or Bridgestone M864 tires with DOT date codes 2318-2418, all of size 425/65R22.5. The sidewall steel body cords may be exposed, possibly causing unexpected, rapid air loss while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires - Other than Passenger Cars."

Consequence: Rapid tire air loss can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Mack will notify owners, instructing them to take their vehicles to Bridgestone Tire or Mack truck service centers for inspection and replacement, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began December 19, 2018. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0412.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
