25V030000 · Service Brakes, Air:Antilock

Reported: 2025-01-23 (January 23, 2025) · Model years: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2010-2018 MRU and 2019-2025 Terrapro towing vehicles. Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2008-2019 TerraPro (MRU) and 2019-2022 TerraPro (TE) vehicles. A brake control valve air leak into the attached exhaust hose can create excessive back pressure, causing the parking brake to release unexpectedly.

Consequence: The unexpected release of the parking brake may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will remove the exhaust tube and fitting from the valve, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 8, 2022. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0433.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
