I HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THE FRONT LEFT CORNER OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGH SPEED HIGHWAY. IN MY EFFORT (AND THAT OF A WISCONSIN STATE TROOPER) TO INSTALL THE TEMPORARY SPARE TIRE I (WE) DISCOVERED IT WOULD NOT FIT ON THE CAR. IT SEEMED TO BE THE WRONG TYPE FOR MY VEHICLE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A NEARBY DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOO COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE SPARE WOULD NOT FIT. THE MECHANICS BEST GUESS IS THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER IS TO BIG FOR THE SPARE PREVENTING IT FROM BEING INSTALLED. SO THEY MOVED THE LEFT REAR WHEEL TO THE FRONT AND INSTA…

ENGINE MAKES LOUD NOISES AFTER DRIVING AND ACTS LIKE IT'S EXHAUSTED. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN PARK THE CAR AND GET OUT OF IT. THERE IS A SLIGHT BURNING SMELL (WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD WEAR OFF AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE HUNDRED MILES), BUT IT'S STILL DOING THIS. IT'S LIKE THE ENGINE OVER HEATED (WHICH NO INDICATOR) AND IT NEEDS TO COOL OFF. THE SMELL IS THE MOST CONCERNING PART.

THE CAR WAS PARKED OVER THE WEEKEND IN A VERY SECLUDED COUNTY LOCATION (NO OTHER PEOPLE AROUND). I NOTICED A LARGE CRACK IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD TWO DAYS LATER WHEN I NEXT USED THE CAR. THERE ARE NO VISIBLE CHIPS ON THE GLASS. THE CRACK SPREAD OUTWARD FROM WHERE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS ATTACHED. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FACTORY INSTALLATION OR DEFECTIVE PART ISSUE.

My headlights have a motor (or motors) in them. This feature is to adjust headlights in accordance with the steering wheel. I think it's referred to as AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System). The left headlight's motor makes a noise. I do not always hear it when driving but when stopped or parking and exiting the vehicle, I can hear it until the lights turn off. The car has about 37,000 - 38,000 miles on it.

when you are driving in rainy weather on a highway the side view mirrors and windows fog up and you can't see. Putting on the defroster doesn't help. You have to drive with the windows open. On most cars if you open the windows the water would be evaporated from the rubber on the windows. The rubber is not thick enough on the front windows to do this. Bought it to a dealer and they said the same thing as far as the front windows are.

Just got diagnosed with cracked cylinder head. After looking on social media, it appears this is a thing for the model years 2018 and 2019. Bad casting? Anyway I believe this should be a voluntary recall to correct such a flawed engine. I bought this new from a Mazda dealership and kept it up to date with service only through the dealer. I purchased a used 2019 Mazda CX-5 in 2024, with 25,000 miles on it. In June of 2026 I started to have an oil leak. Took it to a mechanic's shop who diagnosed it as a valve cover gasket, ran the car for another 2 months, oil leak did not stop, got worse, to the point where my oil light came on where the oil was low enough, then I took it to another mechanic, they diagnosed it as some sort of pressure sensor that has to do with the oil, they replaced that, then that still wasn't the case, it was leaking, and they diagnosed it as a cracked cylind…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

I started to smell a burning smell while I was driving and noticed smoke coming from under the hood along with the burning smell. When I parked the car I noticed a bunch of oil leaking from under the car. I took the car to get checked out and there was oil all under the bottom of the car and it was confirmed that there was a very bad oil leak which occurred due to a crack in the cylinder head.
