Owner report 11569176 · 2024-01-31 (January 31, 2024)

I have a 2024 Mazda CX-5 but this is in any model and year that has the Adaptive Radar Cruise Control. When you set the distance you want to follow the vehicle in front of you, you will go the speed you are going until you come to the space you have set for the vehicle in front of you. Your vehicle will slow to match that vehicles speed. If that vehicle slows down, you will slow down. What it doesn't do it turn on your brake lights so the vehicle behind you knows that your vehicle is slowing down. Sometimes if the vehicle in front of you slows…

I had coplained about a long, soft brake pedal on 10 February 2024 to Hiley Fort Worth Motorcars and got a report on 13 February 2024 stated that after inspection, they could not duplicate my complaint, so they did a visual inspection and washed the car!!!! Today, 29 May 2024, I had to make an emergency stop and pressed the brake pedal to the floor! The ABS came on, but the brake pedal should never reach the floor. The other car had stopped and I swerved out of the way. No warning lights came on nor sounds. Additional information; if the brak…

I bought this car brand new with 51 miles on it on 7/24 and have taken it to the dealership mechanics twice for the same problem. Within 3 seconds of “letting go” of the steering wheel, the car veers and pulls directly into the right berm. The car requires continuous redirection of the steering wheel to get it to drive straight on. The dealership where I purchased this has not reported this defect to the manufacturer despite me requesting it. The car was inspected prior to me purchasing it, and upon me noticing that it veers off the road, I to…

My headlights have a motor (or motors) in them. This feature is to adjust headlights in accordance with the steering wheel. I think it's referred to as AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System). The left headlight's motor makes a noise. I do not always hear it when driving but when stopped or parking and exiting the vehicle, I can hear it until the lights turn off. The car has about 37,000 - 38,000 miles on it.

Incident Description: On multiple occasions in January and February 2026, while operating a 2024 Mazda CX-5 in reverse on low-friction surfaces (snow/ice) with a slight incline, the vehicle suffered a total systemic failure. System Failures: While reversing at low speeds, the engine spontaneously shut off without warning. This resulted in an immediate loss of power braking and power steering. Simultaneously, the electronic gear selector (shifter) became non-functional, preventing the vehicle from being placed into 'Park' to stop the uncontrol…

When filling up with gas, the gas filler tube would overflow spilling gas out of the filler tube. This happened multiple times. ENGINE MAKES LOUD NOISES AFTER DRIVING AND ACTS LIKE IT'S EXHAUSTED. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN PARK THE CAR AND GET OUT OF IT. THERE IS A SLIGHT BURNING SMELL (WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD WEAR OFF AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE HUNDRED MILES), BUT IT'S STILL DOING THIS. IT'S LIKE THE ENGINE OVER HEATED (WHICH NO INDICATOR) AND IT NEEDS TO COOL OFF. THE SMELL IS THE MOST CONCERNING PART.

when you are driving in rainy weather on a highway the side view mirrors and windows fog up and you can't see. Putting on the defroster doesn't help. You have to drive with the windows open. On most cars if you open the windows the water would be evaporated from the rubber on the windows. The rubber is not thick enough on the front windows to do this. Bought it to a dealer and they said the same thing as far as the front windows are.

After vehicle has been parked for awhile, for example over night, there is a Popping sound or Clunking from front of vehicle after moving vehicle and applying brakes at first stop. Noise has been there since 2024. Popping, Clunking sound only when when vehicle parked again. There is also a loud Clunking sound sometimes, sounds like it is from the right front suspension, when driving on irregular, or bumpy road surface where i live. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Since the day we purchased our new 2024 Mazda CX-5, two issues have become apparent. Firstly, there is a clicking noise emanating from the rear passenger seats behind the driver whenever the vehicle is in motion. Secondly, there is a noticeable rumbling in the drivetrain during idle or stop-and-go traffic. I have visited the Mazda showroom twice regarding the seat back noise. Together with a Mazda technician, we determined that the rear passenger seat indeed makes a clicking noise even after being properly latched. We tested several new cars o…
