Recall history

5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

22V103000 · Air Bags

Reported: 2022-02-23 (February 23, 2022) · Model years: 2019, 2020, 2021

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2019-2021 McLaren GT vehicles. The driver's air bag and the occupant restraint controller may be improperly connected, which can result in a deactivated driver's air bag that will not deploy in a crash.

Consequence: A driver's air bag that does not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the driver's air bag connection, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact McLaren customer service at 1-646-429-8916.

20V231000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Storage:Tank Assembly:Mounting | Fuel System, Gasoline:Storage:Tank Assembly

Reported: 2020-04-23 (April 23, 2020) · Model years: 2020

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2016-2020 720S, 2019 Senna, 2020 GT, and 2017-2019 570GT vehicles. The Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) foam pad underneath the fuel tank may retain moisture and corrode the fuel tank, potentially causing a fuel leak.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: McLaren will notify owners, and dealers will remove the NVH foam pad from the vehicle and inspect the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is found to have corrosion, it will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began June 17, 2020. Owners may contact McLaren's Client Services department at 855-202-8815, Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm EST or [email protected].

21V561000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings

Reported: 2021-07-23 (July 23, 2021) · Model years: 2020

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2020 570S, GT, 2019 600LT, and 2019-2020 720S vehicles. The brake assembly banjo bolt may be missing the holes that supply brake fluid to the caliper, which would cause the brakes to fail on one corner of the vehicle.

Consequence: Brake failure in one corner can cause the vehicle to pull to one side during braking, and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the banjo bolt, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 1, 2021. Owners may contact McLaren customer service at 1-646-429-8916. McLaren's number for this recall is SRC 00 C 001.

24V661000 · Latches/Locks/Linkages:Hood:Latch

Reported: 2024-09-10 (September 10, 2024) · Model years: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2020-2023 McLaren GT vehicles. The manual release cable of the hood latch may have excessive tension that can cause the latch to open, resulting in the hood opening unexpectedly.

Consequence: A hood that opens unexpectedly while driving can obstruct the driver's view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: McLaren will replace the hood latch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2024. Owners may contact McLaren customer service at 855-202-8815.

25V216000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings | Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip:Control Unit/Module

Reported: 2025-04-09 (April 9, 2025) · Model years: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McClaren) is recalling certain 2020-2025 600LT, 720S, Artura, GT, and GTS vehicles. The brake lines may be routed incorrectly and cause the brakes on the incorrect side to activate, possibly resulting in one of the rear wheels locking up.

Consequence: A rear wheel locking condition may cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and correct the brake line connections as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 21, 2025. Owners may contact McClaren customer service at 1-646-429-8916.

There is a crack in the passenger side door hinge that causes the door to misalign. I fear the door will fall off and cause safety risks. My independent service center confirmed the crack. McLaren has acknowledged the problem and has redesigned the hinge, but refuses to correct the problem on existing models.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
