Owner report 11632530 · 2024-12-26 (December 26, 2024)

Vehicle experienced transmission shifting issue after having driven for a period of 15 - 20 minutes, with engine oil temp reaching above 103/105 degrees C, transmission won't shift into Drive. Automatically pops into Neutral. Other times engine will stall, required complete restart. This creates hazard for operator and cars following behind as driver needed to steer vehicle out of the way of traffic while in Neutral. Independent MB repair shop and dealership scanned vehicle and identified with code P073E code. Dealer upgraded TCM control mo…

Owner report 11676731 · 2025-07-28 (July 28, 2025)

The car does not go into drive from reverse and will sometime automatically shift itself from a low drive gear (D1) into Neutral without warning. After this happens - the car also can't get back into D1. It takes about 20 seconds for the car to shift back into a Drive gear and it will jolt into D3 violently. This has been a scary experience on many occassions - especially at red lights when this happens and we can't get the car out of neutral for some time. This was diagnosed by mercedes dealership near us as a fawlty sensor in the transmissi…

Owner report 11470529 · 2022-06-22 (June 22, 2022)

While driving on the interstate (65mph) in traffic, there was a sudden loss of power causing deceleration and the inability to maintain speed. A collision was barely avoided both from being rear-ended and from trying to safely move to the shoulder while other traffic passed. A certified mechanic later determined the piston in cylinder 2 broke, the spark plug broke and the piston rings pulled to the top. The mechanic also said, "Replacement of engine required." The vehicle has 52,839 miles (2,839 miles above the 50,000 warranty). There were…

After the vehicle stalled, the vehicle took approximately 8 minutes before the vehicle could be shifted into drive. Once in drive, the vehicle would jerk and shift to D3 before accelerating. The check engine warning light would illuminate while in reverse. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a transmission failure due to a malfunctioning valve body and low pump pressure. On April 16, 2026, within minutes of being released from a certified dealership, my 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 suffered a sudden and total loss of propulsion while traveling at high speed on the Belt Parkway (NY). Despite depressing the accelerator, the vehicle failed to maintain speed and stalled in active traffic. This created an immediate life-safety hazard, forcing me to navigate across multiple lanes without engine power to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle was released to me by Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn on April 16, 2026,…

When driving at 40 to 60 MPH and hit shallow pot hole or bump in the road the front wheels violently shake and the steering wheel (electric steering) violently vibrates for 5 to 8 seconds. This 2023 GLC, a newly redesigned model, has a number of issues. The two most severe are the adaptive speed limit and the lane keeping assist. I had to disable the traffic sign recognition feature because I was on I-95 in Maryland where the posted speed limit was 65. The car abruptly slowed me down to 35 because it saw an exit sign speed limit but I was not on the exit. I was lucky the car behind me didn't hit me. While the vehicle was being operated normally, it caught fire. We were driving on a summer day in August. Conditions were humid, with temperatures in the mid-80s. The vehicle was on the return leg of an approximately 30-mile drive. Traffic was somewhat heavy, with speeds generally below 20 mph and occasional stops. We first noticed a slight burning smell, followed shortly afterward by a distinct puff of white smoke coming from under the hood on the passenger side, near the windshield. We immediately decided to stop the vehicle and get out. Wi…

All of a sudden ALL electrical and engine stopped and turned off. Only thing that was powered was instrument cluster with multiple warnings like SRS Malfunction, Steering Malfunction, SOS Inoperative, Parking Brake and more. We believe the car had also shifted to park on its own. No power to anything not even hazard lights. Nothing electrical had any sort of power. Could not even turn car off…

I have had issues with squeaky, very loud noises at slow speed and reverse braking. I have had this issue since I purchased this vehicle. I have brought it in a few times to have 2 different dealers fix the noise as I believe it is a safety issue as well. They said this is a common issue with GLC that they have noises while braking but there is no fix. I had an advisor drive the vehicle and witness loud squeaky noises while braking. Spending a lot of money on this vehicle, and Mercedes should fix this issue. I believe the brake system falls und…

The first day the car was picked up by us, we turned back and complained about the steering wheel and drivers' seat vibration. They checked it and we were told they cannot find anything. We were told to drive the car for awhile and return it if this complaint persists. We returned it to Okemos Mercedes with the same complaint. They said it is the tires and they replaced the right front tire. I told them I was driving since I was 17 and I know the difference between body and tire problems. We were told to try it again and come back and if …

Vehicle experienced transmission shifting issue after having driven for a period of 15 - 20 minutes, with engine oil temp reaching above 103/105 degrees C, transmission won't shift into Drive.

There were…

Our 2019 GLC with 25,000 miles flooded from the inside out with no warning -- a terrifying safety concern. One day when driving to work the car felt slightly odd while driving on streets in Washington, DC. Pulled over to the side of the road and car would not start. Dealer sent tech and jumped the car after a few attempts. Dealer/repair thought the car had a bad battery and voltage dip limiter. Repaired both and returned car. The next day the car drove in the morning but would not start again; was towed to dealer. Dealer/repair reported the…

On May 22, 2025, while parked, my 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 spontaneously caught fire, completely destroying the vehicle. I later discovered Recall 21V961000 / Campaign 2022030003 affecting some 2019 GLC300s for fuel leaks at the fuel rail/injector interface, which pose a serious fire hazard. Further research has shown reports of loose ground connections in these vehicles as well, increasing the risk of sparks igniting leaked fuel. Given that my …
