While driving, the vehicle’s serpentine/fan belt snapped. The loose belt struck and pulled out a sensor plug. Immediately the engine shut down and was later found to be seized. The vehicle had no prior warnings or known issues and was maintained according to manufacturer recommendations. There were no other warning signs ahead, the car is always maintained. I have records of all the maintenance, and there was not a single Check engine light, or any other kind of issue. Consequence: Engine seized, vehicle not drivable, substantial repair or repl…

I am writing to report a problem with my 2022 Mercedes GLE 350 4Matic. A metallic ticking noise originates from the engine compartment during acceleration, with the noise diminishing as speed increases. This effect creates a deceptive sense that the issue disappears at higher speeds, potentially encouraging faster driving. Mercedes-Benz dealer technicians acknowledged the issue following an inspection of the engine and turbo. Despite this, they recommended reporting the problem to Mercedes Corp. and maintaining that the sound is normal, even s…

Low coolant warning light came on while driving. Parked car in garage and found engine coolant all over garage floor. Contacted dealer, topped off coolant per conversation with service advisor and drove car to dealership. Dealer found that a rock had entered through one of the grille openings and damaged the front radiator. Estimate of repairs was $2,037 which Mercedes offered to cover $1,000 of the repair. Concern is that this may very well happen again due to the design of the grille.

CRUISE CONTROL SPEED CANNOT BE CLEARED UNLESS CAR IS STOPPED AND ENGINE TURNED OFF. ONCE SPEED IS SET, THE CRUISE CONTROL CAN BE DISENGAGED, BUT THE SPEED SET CANNOT BE CANCELED. EXAMPLE, SPEED IS SET AT 65MPH. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS DISENGAGED, AND THEN ENGAGED AGAIN, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY ACCELERATE TO 65MPH. THE ONLY WAY TO DECREASE SPEED IS TO REPEATEDLY TAP THE LEVER TO DECREASE SPEED BY 5MPH/TAP. I HAVE HAD THREE INSTANCES I BELIEVE THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM FAILED IN MY NEW CAR. THE FIRST INSTANCE WAS A WRONG WAY DRIVER COMING TOWARDS ME ON A FREEWAY OFFRAMP. I ESTIMATE THAT WE WERE WITHIN ABOUT 30 FEET OF EACH OTHER AND TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30MPH WHEN WE BOTH QUICKLY SWERVED TO AVOID A COLLISION. NO WARNING AND NO AUTOMATIC BRAKING OCCURRED. THE NEXT TWO INSTANCES BOTH INVOLVED DRIVING AT NIGHT ON SURFACE STREETS IN WHICH I LAST MINUTE BRAKED TO AVOID HITTING STOPPED CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I WOULD APPROXIMATE MY RATE OF SP…

I reported multiple times to Mercedes USA that the vehicle was experiencing electrical issues as I was periodically loosing power and/or control over the vehicle. The vehicle was returned twice to the dealership but the problem always came back pretty much immediately. On the day of the accident, I was driving the vehicle on a straight road. The road was a little bit humid as it has been raining few minutes/hours before but it wasn't raining at the time I was driving. I was maintaining a speed of 55mph (speed limit on this portion of the road).…

When driving on an interstate going 55-70 mph and the cruise in on, the car cruise flashes randomly down to 15 or 20 mph and the car severely brakes. This is NOT because someone is in front of us on the highway. It does it when no one is in front of us. Sometimes there are cars behind us and this type of severe breaking is very dangerous when traveling at 70 mph. Cars behind us have had to slam on their breaks to avoid rear-ending us. I have taken the vehicle to Morgantown Mercedes Benz twice complaining about this issue. They cannot find …

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

My instrument cluster has gone black twice. Meaning I have no speedometer, gas gauge, etc. My blind spot monitoring, front parking, and other safety features do not work when this happens. It stays this way for several hours and then displays again, usually overnight. Mercedes has denied the issue, despite me providing a video of the malfunction while driving. They have had my car for 25 days and provided no resolution, claiming there is no issue. MBUSA has not responded to my inquiry/complaint.
