The vehicle brakes during turns in the road when it is inappropriate. Has led to braking almost to a stop on the highway in one incident and could possibly cause a rear end collision. It has done this around 30 times in the past year of owning the vehicle and has begun to cause anxiety on the road due to not knowing when it will activate. It also has not warned during near front end collisions when it should have. The software is faulty and I have brought it to the Mini of Dallas’ attention as well as the Mini of Arlington and the Mini/BMW N. A…

This car is a PHEV. I experienced a drivetrain malfunction warning noted on instrument display. Vehicle states it can continue to be driven “moderately” with reduced drivetrain output. This is similar to an incident recently in which the instrument cluster stopped working following a drivetrain warning on the instrument cluster. Dealer has not yet diagnosed this latest problem but for the previous issue states it is due to high voltage battery not being fully charged when driving but does not acknowledge any faults with the system.

Fuel sensor failed and due to tank pressure that would not release properly, according to repair shop. Among other safety issues, this caused me to not be able to open the gas tank to refill the gas tank. This has been ongoing. At first the gas flap was repaired (2x) and ultimately the fuel sensor was entirely replaced at my cost. All repairs were done at New Country Mini in Hartford, CT. The repair shop should provide history of repairs over the several years as Mini is denying the seriousness of the defect. I’ve notified mini.

My 2021 MINI Cooper Countryman S model with John Cooper Works had to have a part replaced, a valve part, that allows the fuel tank to release air from the fuel tank. I had a message or symbol on the dash with an alert that would come on but then go away. I took it to the Sewell BMW MINI dealership in Plano, TX, on Spring Creek Parkway, and they diagnosed it and fixed it. The buildup of the air in the gas tank could have caused an explosion. Luckily, it was covered under my OEM warranty.

The cars safety system overrode the driver, now allowing me to maneuver away from on coming traffic until the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle exhibits a persistent and repeatable service brake defect involving jolting/binding at complete stops, accompanied by uneven brake application and a failure of the friction surfaces to clear oxidation during normal operation. At low speeds and during final braking load, the vehicle produces a distinct clunk/release sensation, as if braking force is abruptly released just before stopping. This creates an unexpected weight-shift and inconsistent stopping behavior. The condition has occurred consistently since approximately 4,000 mile…

When making a right turn, and turning speed, our new cars braking system activated, locked the brakes, and steering wheel, causing the vehicle to slide into oncoming traffic. The cars safety system overrode the driver, now allowing me to maneuver away from on coming traffic until the vehicle came to a complete stop. I believe the reason it did this, is the cars safety system thought it was about to be in a head on collision being fed wrong AI to the cars computers and cameras. The vehicle had less than 300 miles at the time of the incident.

The vehicle experienced intermittent electrical failures, including screen blackouts/reboots during startup and while driving. These events affected visibility of vehicle information and settings. The drive mode selector malfunctioned, limiting the ability to select Eco, Normal, Sport, or Off-Road modes. Drive modes directly affect throttle response, braking behavior, and vehicle control. On multiple occasions, braking and acceleration behavior felt inconsistent with selected drive mode, creating safety concerns. The issue is intermittent an…

On or around 6/20/26, I went to drive my 2014 mini countryman. When I got inside, I quickly realized that there was mold growing throughout the vehicle, on the carpet, and in the trunk. The vehicle started, but I was unable to use the drivers side window. I sent the vehicle in for service and was informed that a massive leak after a storm had clogged the drain tubes to the moon roof allowing water to leak into the driver side floor. The water damaged the electrical box which caused the window to stop worked. I found out later that this electric…

The JBE (junction box electronics) has failed. This has caused the fuel pump to stop responding. I'm not sure if my mechanic still has the original part. It did this in the street after backing out of the driveway. It could have been deadly had it happened on the interstate at 70mph. The unit has been inspected by a third party electronics repair shop and cannot be repaired. There were no warnings until it stopped working in the street. Vehicle has not been repaired, because available parts are diverted first to warrantied vehicles.
