In September 2025, the manufacturer issued a component specific extended limited warranty(MINI ELW FRM 15Y/186M)acknowledging the Footwell Module (FRM) may fail after a 12-volt battery disconnect or power supply interruption. My vehicle was identified by VIN as affected. Beginning in 2021, my vehicle experienced recurring electrical failures consistent with FRM failure: three battery replacements (2021, May 2024, December 2024), alternator failure (May 2024), windows failing to operate, erratic indicator lights, and engine rev on startup with m…

The frm module failed. Now the indicators don't work, no high beams, the windows won't work. It has a warning that says the driver side door is open. I called the dealership. They said that it has a 10 year, 156,000 mile warranty. It has 137,000 miles but the warranty expired in September of 2024. So it will cost me $921to fix a very known safety issue. I don't have that right now and this is my only vehicle so I am going to have to drive it it is a very common issue that they should have to correct

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
