DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT PROPERLY. IT WILL STICK IN THE EXTENDED POSITION AND NOT SNUG AGAINST THE SHOULDER. *NM
ALL FOUR SEAT BELTS IN MY 1994 DODGE STEALTH DO NOT RETRACT PROPERLY. I WOULD SAY THAT OVER 90% OF THE TIME THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETACT AT ALL. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN OF MINE! *JB
IF YOU CONDUCT A SEARCH ON 3SI FOR ECU AND TRY TO WEED OUT WHO HAS REPLACED THEIRS AND FIXED THEIR PROBLEMS BY REPLACING THEIRS I'M SURE THE NUMBER GOES WAY OVER 9 WE HAVE WASTED COUNTLESS HOURS DAYS AND WEEKS WORTH OF TIME AND MONEY HUNCHING OVER OUR CARS TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT ISSUES WITH MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE NEVER REACHING THE FIX ALL THE WHILE BECAUSE A BROKEN ECU HAS US LOOKING EVERYWHERE ELSE BUT ITSELF ALL BECAUSE MITSUBISHI DECIDED TO USE SUBSTANDARD CAPACITORS AND POSSIBLY RESISTORS IN THE ECU WHICH EVENTUALLY EITHER JUST WENT BAD AND …
MY SEATBELT RESTRAINTS NO LONGER RETRACT ON THEIR OWN ACCORD AND MUST BE FED BACK INTO THE HOUSING. I FEAR THAT IF I WERE TO EVER GET INVOLVED INTO AN ACCIDENT AND THE RESTRAINTS WEREN'T PROPERLY RETRACTED IT COULD SERIOUSLY OR FATALLY HARM ME OR MY PASSENGER(S). THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. -RICHARD WILSON *TR
I DRIVE A 1995 DODGE STEALTH. THIS IS THE SAME CAR AS A MITSUBISHI 3000GT. MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE PRIMARY RESTRAINT SYSTEM. ALTHOUGH MY CAR IS A 1995 AND IS 11 YEARS OLD, I FEEL THAT THE SEAT BELTS SHOULD REMAIN IN TOP WORKING ORDER. UNFORTUNATELY, AFTER EXTENDING THE BELT TO WEAR IT, THERE IS SO MUCH SLACK THAT IT WILL NOT RETRACT. WITH NO SEAT BELT TENSION, I'M WORRIED THAT IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, THE SEAT BELT MIGHT NOT SERVE ITS PURPOSE. *NM

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
