Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

14V195000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Lines And Fittings

Reported: 2014-04-11 (April 11, 2014) · Model years: 2014

Open Range R.V. Company (Open Range) is recalling certain 2014 Open Range LF319 fifth wheel recreational trailers manufactured October 23, 2013, through March 10, 2014. The flexible gas line for the kitchen slideout section is too short.

Consequence: When the kitchen area is expanded, the gas line may be pulled excessively resulting in a gas leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Open Range will notify owners and dealers will replace the existing gas line with a new longer gas line, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Open Range at 1-260-768-7771.

RIGHT REAR TIRE DISINTEGRATED, ON MY 2014 NEW FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER, FOR NO REASON ,OTHER A DEFECT. HAD GOOD HIGHWAYS. LESS THAN 1500 MILES. COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS SEAMS TO BE A COMMON, PROBLEM. SOME OF THE SIDE WALLS, REMAINED ON THE DAMAGED RIM. SENT A FORM TO LIONSHEAD SPECIALTY TIRE AND WHEEL. THEY DENIED THE CLAIM. SOME THING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THERE IS A MAJOR ACCIDENT. *TR

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
