Year-by-year records
Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
95V177000 · Service Brakes, Air:Controls, Pedals And Linkages
Reported: 1995-09-20 (September 20, 1995) · Model years: 1993
A STOP LIGHT SWITCH ON THE BRAKE TREADLE VALVE AND A CRUISE CONTROL DUMP VALVE SWITCH WERE OMITTED DURING ASSEMBLY OR BOTH SWITCHES WERE INSTALLED BUT WERE NOT WIRED CORRECTLY.
Consequence: IF A LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE OCCURS IN EITHER FRONT OR REAR BRAKE SYSTEM, THE RESULT OF THESE OMISSIONS IS THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL, IF TURNED ON, WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKE WAS APPLIED AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A SECOND STOP LIGHT SWITCH (WIRED IN PARALLEL) AND A SECOND CRUISE CONTROL DUMP VALVE SWITCH (WIRED IN SERIES) INTO THE TREADLE VALVE.
NHTSA campaign record ↗95V002000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Storage:Tank Assembly:Mounting
Reported: 1995-07-20 (July 20, 1995) · Model years: 1994
THE FUEL TANK STRAP CAN BREAK ALLOWING A SLIGHT UPWARD MOVEMENT OF THE TANK. A DUAL FUEL TANK STRAP BREAKAGE CAN ALSO ALLOW THE TANK TO SLIDE FORWARD OR REARWARD.
Consequence: MOVEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK CAN ALLOW DIESEL FUEL TO LEAK, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
Remedy: THE TOP FUEL TANK STRAP WILL BE REPLACED WITH A REDESIGNED, THICKER STRAP.
NHTSA campaign record ↗95V021000 · Steering:Rack And Pinion
Reported: 1995-02-07 (February 7, 1995) · Model years: 1994
METRIC GRADE 8.8 BOLTS WERE MIXED IN INVENTORY WITH METRIC GRADE 10.9 BOLTS. INCORRECT GRADE BOLTS (8.8) WERE USED IN ATTACHING THE 710 SAGINAW STEERING GEAR TO THE FRAME.
Consequence: THE USE OF INCORRECT BOLTS CAN CAUSE THE STEERING GEAR TO SEPARATE FROM THE FRAME CAUSING A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE ALL METRIC GRADE 8.8 BOLTS WITH THE CORRECT METRIC GRADE 10.9 BOLTS, LOCTITE WILL BE INSTALLED INTO THE BOLT HOLE, AND THE BOLTS WILL BE TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
1993: 0 complaints · 1994: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1993 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| 1994 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
