I RECEIVED A SAFETY INFORMATION NOTICE (NHTSA 19V450 / TRANSPORT CANADA 2019-309) STATING THE TWO REAR SEAT SEATBELTS ARE NOT PROPERLY FUNCTIONAL. THE RESOLUTION IS TO HAVE THE DEALER ADHERE A STICKER TO THE SEATBELT SAYING THE SEATS SHOULD NOT BE USED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. MY SIMPLE QUESTION IS HOW CAN A SAFETY NOTICE AND RECALL SOLUTION BE THE MAKE HALF OF THE SEATING IN THE VEHICLE NON-FUNCTIONAL - AS OPPOSED TO FIXING THE SEATBELT ISSUE.

THE PILLAR STICKER PLACED BY ROADTREK INCORRECTLY DESCRIBED THE TIRES AS LT225/75R16 AND RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURES OF 65/80, WHEN IN FACT THE FACTORY TIRES SUPPLIED WERE LT245/7516 WITH LOWER RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURES (50/65) FOR THE LOADED VEHICLE. ROADTREK PLACED THEIR STICKER (AT TIME OF RV CONVERSION) OVER WHAT I ASSUME TO BE THE PARTIALLY PEALED OFF (SPRINTER/MERCEDES) FACTORY PILLAR STICKER, WHICH WAS READABLE THROUGH THE ROADTREK STICKER AND INDICATED A TIRE SIZE OF LT245/75R16. THIS WAS ONLY DISCOVERED BY ME LAST MONTH JUNE 2012, WH…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
