Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
05V235000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2005-05-20 (May 20, 2005) · Model years: 2005, 2006
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS, THE CERTIFICATION LABEL HAS INCORRECT INFORMATION. THE WRONG TIRE BRAND, TIRE SIZE AND COLD INFLATION PRESSURE IS SHOWN.
Consequence: UNDER-INFLATION OF THE TIRES CAN LEAD TO RAPID TIRE WEAR AND PREMATURE FAILURE THAT COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL SEND REPLACEMENT LABELS ALONG WITH INSTRUCTIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 27, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SKYLINE AT 1-800-736-2573.

ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS, THE CERTIFICATION LABEL LOCATED ON THE ROAD- SIDE FRONT BOTTOM CORNER OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRAILER IS INCORRECT. THE TIRE COLD INFLATION PRESSURE IS INCORRECTLY STATED.
Consequence: UNDER INFLATION OF THE TIRES CAN LEAD TO RAPID TIRE WEAR AND PREMATURE FAILURE THAT COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: SKYLINE WILL MAIL REPLACEMENT LABELS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 8, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SKYLINE AT 1-800-929-1080.
NHTSA campaign record ↗05V491000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2005-10-24 (October 24, 2005) · Model years: 2006
CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110 "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THE TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION PLACARD CONTAINS INCORRECT INFORMATION REGARDING THE MAXIMUM CARGO CARRYING CAPACITY.
Consequence: IF THE CARGO WEIGHT IS EXCEEDED AND THE TRAILER OVERLOADED, THE EXCESS WEIGHT CAN CAUSE HANDLING PROBLEMS, IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR, TIRE FAILURE OR OTHER DAMAGE. AN OVERLOADED TRAILER IS HARD TO STOP WHICH COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THIS COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH NEW TIRE INFORMATION PLACARDS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 27, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SKYLINE AT 1-800-962-7773.

Problems by model year
Model-wide comparison of the eight most reported components across the model. Cells show counts and shares within each model year. Open a cell for source examples.

Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.
Failure mileage by component
Median and middle 50% of usable owner-reported mileages. Ranges require at least five records.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2005: 0 complaints · 2006: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2006 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2006 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
