I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY OCCUR ON MY CAR AS WELL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSED IT AS A MISFIRE IN ONE OF THE CYLINDER. DIRECT INJECTOR WENT BAD CAUSING DETONATION. THIS IS NOW BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. YET, THE MANUFACTURE REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE. THE ROOT CAUSE I BELIEVE IS A IMPROPER ECU TUNE. SOUTH AFRICA TOYOTA ISSUED A TSB. MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE LEAKING ENGINE OIL ONTO THE EXHAUST. WHENEVER I DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 5-10 MINUTES, THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL IS OVERWHELMING WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE PAST 12 MOS., AND I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUTURE POTENTIAL FOR AN ENGINE BAY FIRE, NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF INHALING THE FUMES FROM BURNING OIL EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR.

The new 2022 Subaru BRZ's and Toyota GR86's have been found to have an excessive amount of RTV silicone on the engine oil pan. This can clog up the oil pickup filter and cause oil starvation leading to catastrophic engine failure. A few engines have already failed and more people have been finding RTV silicone in their oil filters and dipsticks including me.

I am not writing because of a vehicle failure. I'm contacting you because my daughter purchased this vehicle for my grandson, and we find the vehicle did not come with a spare tire. I called Subaru and told them I would like to purchase a spare and a wheel. I was informed by the dealership, and directly from Subaru, that they don't make a spare tire for the vehicle. They advised that Subaru found that the fuel economy was being sacrificed due to the weight of the tire, so they decide not to make one to fit this model. I know this is not the nor…

MY BRZ IS EXPERIENCING BATTERY DRAIN ISSUES. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH AN OEM BATTERY FROM SUBARU, BUT MY CAR STILL HAS A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. I HAD TO PURCHASE A PORTABLE JUMP STARTER KIT TO ENSURE THAT IF THE CAR DIDN'T START THAT I HAD A JUMP AVAILABLE. I HAVE NOT BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AS OF NOW. When the sun is facing the rear of the car, the rear turn signals do not activate, and the turn signals flash rapidly. It is exactly what happens in this youtube video: https://youtu.be/dHwMCdlJfYQ This is a danger, because my car will not properly signal when I change lanes or take a turn. Subaru will not look at the vehicle. In this post in a community of owners for this vehicle, an owner states that the dealer ignored the issue, and Subaru of America sent a generic, irrelevant response. https://www.gr86.org/threads/fast-blinker-caused-by…

I purchased a new 2022 Subaru BRZ. Shortly after the purchase, the wheel bolts loosened which caused catastrophic damage to the wheel, and all brake components. Upon further research, we believe this may be an inherent vehicle defect. This problem is subject to a recall involving hub bolts which can loosen to the point where the wheel can detach from the vehicle damaging the brake components and posses serious safety issue. The consumer is requesting to reimbursed for repairs, rental, and legal fees.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

I was driving the car on the Highway & the car caught on fire from the engine bay area. I drover the car for about 5 miles before the fire. the car has no modification & everything in OEM/Stock condition. Many people reported having the same issue with engine catching on fire for Subaru BRZ Toyota 86 & Toyota FRS since they all share the same engine & mechanical component

THIS MAY BE SIMILAR TO THE CURRENT RECALL POSTED FOR EARLIER MODELS OF THE SCION FR-S AND SUBARU BRZ, HOWEVER MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE RECALLED PRODUCTION TIME FRAME. (CUTS OFF AT SEPTEMBER 2013, MY CAR WAS MADE IN DECEMBER 2013) MY CAR IS A 2014 SUBARU BRZ MANUAL AND WHEN IDLING STATIONARY, ONCE IN A WHILE RPMS DROP AND CAR SHAKES AS IF IT'S TRYING TO STALL. THIS IS MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN I TAP THE GAS PEDAL AND REV THE CAR JUST A BIT.
