THIS HAS TO DO WITH AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE. I HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF AMERICA SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE MAC KATO. THIS IS A CVT TRANSMISSION SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I HAVE 2003 AN 650 BURGMAN. I WAS RIDING THE BIKE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD ENGINE POWER BUT WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE. I'M GLAD I WAS ON THE CITY STREETS AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE HOV LANES I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE OF DONE! IF I HAD BEEN IN THE REGULAR LANES OF FREEWAY THAT I RIDE ON EVERY DAY I MIGHT NOT HAVE MADE IT TO THE SIDE IN O…
RIDING MY SUZUKI BURGMAN 2003 ON 405 FWY N/B AND CULVER AVE. I HAD A TRANSMISSION FAILURE BECAUSE OF A SUDDEN SLOWDOWN IN SPEED FROM 65 MPH AND SLOWER, I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND BY A CAR. I COULD HEAR THE TIRES SCREECHING BEHIND ME. A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS THIS ONE, COULD LEAD TO DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF A MALFUNCTION IN THE MOTORCYCLE. THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WITH ALL BURGMAN MODELS BECAUSE IT IS A FACTORY DESIGN DEFECT. I WAS CLOSE TO DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. SUZUKI IS COMPROMISING THE SAFETY ON ALL ROADS FOR RIDER…
I OWN A 2003 SUZUKI BURGMAN SCOOTER MODEL AN650 PURCHASED IN AUGUST, 2003. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, AT AROUND 5,000 MILES, THE VEHICLE BEGAN EXHIBITING A "RATTLING" NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION AREA DURING IDLE. THE SOUND WOULD DISAPPEAR ONLY AFTER SOME LOAD WAS PLACED ON THE ENGINE. SINCE IT WAS NOT THAT UNUSUAL, I DECIDED TO CHANGE THE OIL AT THE NEXT AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY. THE NOISE DID NOT IMPROVE. IT THEN BECAME PROGRESSIVELY LOUDER. IN THE MEANTIME, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM SUZUKI USA ON A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUAT…
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 (NA) SUZUKI AN650 BURGMAN. WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST POWER. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BOAT PRIMARY SHAFT BECAME LOOSE, WHICH WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 27,000.

CVT BOLT AND PULLEY GRINDS; WHICH MAY CAUSE BELT TO BREAK. IF RIDER IS AT A HIGH SPEED, THIS COULD CAUSE A THREATENING ACCIDENT. Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
