Suzuki Motor USA, LLC (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2023-2024 DL800DE motorcycles. The rear tire may crack or deform, resulting in tire tread separation.
Consequence: Tread separation may cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will replace the rear tire, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 20, 2024. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-714- 572-1490. Suzuki's number for this recall is 3A03.

The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or local dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,150.
The contact owns a 2024 SUZUKI DL800DERCM4. The contact stated while driving his motorcycle as various speeds, the contact feels a vibration coming from the handlebars and the foot peg. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be dignoased, however the diagnoses was unknown. The contact mention this failure has occurred on several different occasions. The manufacture was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,477,00.

On a 300-mile trip, I hit a road dip in a corner, and the bottom crash bar impacted the ground due to clearance issues. Because the crash bars make ground contact before the footpegs, they pose a critical safety hazard and cannot be safely used. As I have removed them for my personal safety. When a crash bar touches the ground before your footpegs or feelers do, it violates basic motorcycle safety geometry.
