20V103000 · Equipment

Reported: 2020-02-24 (February 24, 2020) · Model years: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

Terex South Dakota, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain 2014-2019 TM bucket/boom trucks. The limit switch was installed upside down and does not stop platform level movement if the platform level exceeds 15 degrees.

Consequence: If the platform level limit switch does not stop the platform from tilting, a platform occupant could fall, increasing the risk of an injury.

Remedy: Terex will notify owners, and dealers will properly install the limit switch, free of charge. The recall began April 14, 2020. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000. Terex's number for this recall is SN681.

Consequence: A platform that cannot maintain a level position increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram or replace the leveling controller, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 1, 2024. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000. Terex's number for this recall is SN728.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
