There was a woman putting groceries into her trunk standing next to the shopping cart. I was able to stop the car before any damage to the cart or my car. The woman was never in danger of being hit. While driving on a surface street, the vehicle stalled with very little time of warning for me to pull to the side of the road. The car came to a complete stop before I had a chance to completely pull over, leaving me in a vulnerable position. If this would have happened on the freeway I would have been definitely stranded in a potentially deadly situation. After calling Tesla Roadside Assistance a tow truck pulled the car to a Tesla service station. Tesla allegedly fixed the issue by replacing the Drive Inverter unit: ASY, DRIVE INV, 3DU, 810…

After being parked on a suburban street for about 3 hours, our Tesla Model Y experienced a complete loss of power-steering assist, requiring extreme hand-over-hand effort to turn the wheel and making it dangerous to drive. Warnings of "Steering assist reduced" and "Lane departure avoidance features unavailable" appeared on the display. After a 3-week wait, we finally got the vehicle to Tesla service, who diagnosed the issue and claimed that it was due to "...rodent damage to steering rack harness". MY CAR IS A 2020 MODEL Y, DELIVERED ON JUNE 27, 2020. THIS FALL, I'VE HAD AN ISSUE CROP UP THAT LOOKS LIKE IT'S BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE PAST (AT LEAST FOR MODELS S, X AND 3 BEFORE MARCH 31, 2019). THE PROBLEM IS THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS (SPECIFICALLY ON 11/26/20) WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND WITH HUMID AND COOL WEATHER (HERE IN IOWA) I'VE HAD A REPORT ON MY DISPLAY INDICATING THAT THE B PILLAR CAMERA IS OBSCURED. On January 19th, around 9:35-9:40am, while driving on Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon, the car jerked as if someone rear-ended it and then stopped abruptly in the middle of a busy road. The information screen displayed various error messages regarding battery and drive system. The stop was abrupt and we could have been seriously injured in busy traffic. This was a scary experience. The car had 260 miles range in the battery and no prior warnings/ messages indicating any problem. We called 911 and Tesla roadside assistance for help. San Ramo…

Driving on two-lane highway, speed limit 55mph, with Tesla traffic aware cruise control enabled. Multiple instances of the car automatically applying heavy braking when cresting a hill or when a large vehicle oncoming. These incidents occurred when there was no traffic immediately ahead in my traveled lane. Luckily there wasn't a vehicle following me closely or I could've been hit from behind.

When I purchased this vehicle, I was told that all ADAS features would be available once the cameras calibrated (approximately 50 miles). After 100 miles my wife bumped into a wall in our garage. I opened a ticket and Tesla said the ADAS features are unavailable until a software update is sent. The sales person who I spoke to were not aware of this. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. Drivers are reliant on warnings from features like this and to have the features off without a warning could get someone run over.

The car locked my toddler inside his car seat because the 12v battery died died as soon as we put him in his seat and closed hid door. There was absolutely no warning before that battery had died, indicating that it was low. Because of the way a Model Y is designed, there is no mechanical way to open the door when the 12V battery dies. The toddler is incapable of manually unlocking the door from inside when the electrical button doesn’t work. This is a huge safety issue and can result in death of children if not resolved by Tesla

While my wife was driving on a flat straight road, she heard a loud bang noise from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle made a loud grinding noise. Upon inspection, it was found the bolt securing the front right damper to the suspension had snapped and come loose. The nut fastening the bolt was lost on the roadside.

We had a terrifying moment today. Low-voltage battery died instantly, leaving the driver locked inside a completely blacked-out car. No electronic door response, phone app & keycards completely frozen. Luckily, we got out safely after calling Roadside Assistance, but this is a serious hazard: No advance warning: The car gave zero indication the low-voltage battery was dying. Counter-intuitive exit: In a panic, 99% of people won't recall where the hidden manual release is. Two urgently needed safety updates: 1. Advanced, explicit warnings days…

Even though the car was in auto Drive, I stepped on the accelerator to merge a little faster. The car stopped dead. It coasted to a complete stop responded to no controls. It had to come to a complete stop in traffic traveling at 65 miles an hour before I could get it to start again. Luckily, I was being followed by my husband because I was taking the car to the auto repair for bodywork. He was able to stop behind me and lucki…

Periodically my car slams on the brakes for no apparent reason. This typically occurs on Interstate highways at normal highway speeds. Sometimes there are bridges or other objects observable but sometimes it's on the open road with no cars or visible reason to rapidly slow down. Despite this, my car still will automatically swerve at random times, slam on the brakes randomly with no reason to break, etc. It is terrifying when this happens unexpectedly and infuriating that I have disabled all these features, but it still does this. Phantom braking happens frequently. On March 24, 2022, the phantom braking was out of control. It was very difficult to continue safe driving. The primary concern is being rear ended by cars following; effectively the Tesla is "brake checking". I am not aware of Tesla pushing updates or addressing this issue in any typeof inspecti…

I IMPACTED THE PICKUP TRUCK AND DAMAGED THE LEFT CENTER OF THE CAR FRONT SLIDING UNDER THE PICKUP BUMPER. IT WAS AS THOUGH THE CAR TOOK OVER ON IT OWN. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR ME TO HAVE MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND I WAS STOPPED 6 FEET BACK FROM THE PICKUP IN FRONT OF ME. I AM NOW AFRAID SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN AND IT SHOULD BE EVALUATED BY TESLA. I REPORTED…

While sitting behind a car at a red light, the car suddenly went into autopilot and spontaneously accelerated forward at a high speed, causing a rear end collision and over $7000 damages to my car. The sedan that was rear ended by me incurred damages but I have no idea how much. . This is the second time this car has suddenly unintentionally accelerated forward while at a full stop since 1/22 ( I've owned the car since 7/2020). The first time while sitting at a drive through pharmacy window- thank goodness there wasn't a person in front of…

we were in a head-on collision (not our fault) in April. The police determined the combined speed of the crash impact to be 60-65 miles per hour. The 2020 Tesla Y  did not deploy its airbags. And as far as we can determine, the accident was not automatically recorded by the Tesla as it should have been. Because the airbags did not deploy, I sustained a fracture to my sternum that traverses over to my collarbone. We both have TBIs and other injuries. With that kind of an impact, one would expect an airbag to protect oneself, yet it did not. …

Phantom braking happens frequently. On March 24, 2022, the phantom braking was out of control. It was very difficult to continue safe driving. I have a video of the screen that shows a person in front of my car. The video is a minute long and shows at least 5 such occurrences. Each time the person occurred on the screen the phantom braking happened when the FSD or cruise control was on. I received contradictory information from Tesla when I requested the service. Finally they said that the issue would be corrected in the future probably via sev…

1. Forward Collision Warning false alarm is very frequent. Often triggered by pedestrian on nearby sidewalk or parked car on street side. Tesla is using Forward Collision Warning to lower my safety score and raise my insurance premium. 2. Tesla sold me "Full Self Driving" package to me for $8000+taxes for more than two years and still have not delivered the product. It's a faulty system with lots of safety hazards. 3. Window not functioning per the recall notice.

In a 1 minute clip I captured how the Tesla constantly misses collision warnings and/or assistance while all safety features are turned on because the car misses the first collision warning and then goes off early on the second scenario with the same car and driver in front of my passenger and I.
