This is a preventative complaint. In my opinion, all the Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses have a serious blind spot due to the location of the driver's side mirrors. When pulling up to an intersection, or stop sign, the driver has to bend forward and backward to see past the mirror for oncoming traffic. I brought this issue up earlier with the manufacturer representative, and he said they would look into it, but no changes have been made or any retro-fit kits to move mirrors.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

AS THE BUS DRIVER PULLED INTO THE BUS GARAGE, HE NOTICED HIS BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AND FOUND IT LOW. I APPLIED CONSTANT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THE BRAKE LINE RUNNING DOWN FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INSIDE THE FRAME RAIL WAS LEAKING. THIS LINE HAD A HOLE RUBBED IN IT BY THE FUEL LINE COMING FROM THE WATER SEPARATOR. THE FUEL LINE WAS ROUTED ACROSS THE TOP OF THE BRAKE LINE ALLOWING IT TO RUB. AFTER REPAIRING THIS BUS I INSPECTED OUR THREE OTHER C2'S WITH THE SAME CAT ENGINE COMBINA…
