This Thor Scope Class B RV is manufactured with two auxiliary batteries outside of and under the chassis to power electrical components in the RV. These batteries are not associated with the Promaster chassis/engine power and appear to be installed by the RV manufacturer. When the vehicle was delivered, there was a problem with battery charging in the auxiliary power system that was eventually traced to a cable that was supposed to connect the two auxiliary battery + terminals. That cable was connected two one battery but was left loose and di…
I bought this THOR Scope with a recall on the awning. I reported to you that the fuel leaked from line to generator. I also reported all lines, propane/fuel/electrical touching everything sharp. THOR has tried to fix my awning recall 3 times in less than one year. Each time they say they’ve fixed it, it comes out going down the road. I have to pull the fuse. So does EVERYONE who has bought these. Read the forums. THOR will not provide me a copy of paperwork of what they’ve done. They fly someone in to work on it at a dealer, but won’t say wha…
This is a Thor Scope RV built on the Promaster 1500 platform. The incident involves the Onan gasoline powered generator, which is directly connected to the fuel tank. Next to the generator in the fuel line, there is a small white inline fuel filter connected by the fuel hose going over a nipple on the filter and reinforced by a hose clamp. In my case, the hose clamp was not installed sufficiently over the nipple (far enough back on the fuel hose that it did not completely engage the nipple), and presumably from vibration associated with the gen…

My unit is a 2022 Thor Scope 18M Class B RV built on a RAM Promaster 1500 chassis. The problem is not with the chassis but the build by Thor. The solar panel on the roof is not secure and the aluminum panel is ripping through the bolts. I caught mine early and only one bolt ripped through, however, there are several reports on the THOR Rize/Scope Owners (Future Owners and WannaBees) Facebook page where the panel attachment failed and the solar panel came off the van while driving.
Solar panel on Thor 18M was completely blown off (now missing) the roof during a recent trip on 22-Oct-2022. The only remaining evidence of the solar panel is attached to the mounting brackets. PDF with pictures attached.
The 2022 RAM Promaster 1500 was converted by Thor Industries to a 2024 Thor Scope 18M in spring 2023 before I purchased it from a dealer in Connecticut. However, information concerning this conversion was not shared with the federal government as the vehicle VIN still lists it as a Promaster 1500. This caused me to miss notification for NHTSA Campaign Number 25V792000 involving a potential travel hazard created by adhesive failure leading to solar panel detachment. While traveling south to St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada on [XXX] on [XXX], …

Fuel line to generator is long rubber hose rubbing on screws. Same with electrical wires. Exhaust from generator and vehicle coming back in from exposed holes in floor under cabinetry. I have informed THOR motor coach. This vehicle is unsafe and could catch fire due to rubber fuel line leaking onto exposed electrical connections or exhaust. Holes in floor for tubes and electrical are not sealed allowing fumes to come in. Couch that has seatbelts attached, metal is cut into two parts allowing seat belts to pull on separate metal bars that wou…

The generator had been installed below the axle and should have been installed above the axle. The contact was informed that the generator was a major safety hazard that could cause a potential failure. The …

I am filing a complaint regarding manufacturer non-compliance and dealership refusal to execute safety Recall 59C (NHTSA Campaign 25V552) on my 2019-2021 Ram ProMaster (Thor Scope 18m Class B RV upfit). The authorized dealership is refusing to perform a non-destructive repair on the vehicle, demanding instead to dismantle the built-in RV living space/bathroom structure at unknown risk and liability to the owner. Over a month ago, the dealership attempted to circumvent federal recall regulations by pressuring me to accept the uninstalled, loose…

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
