Reported: 2022-05-03 (May 3, 2022) · Model years: 2021, 2022

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Tiffin Cahaba motorhomes. The wiring for the 110-volt and 12-volt electrical system may have been installed improperly, resulting in unsecured wiring.

Consequence: Unsecured wiring increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the wiring, and replace damaged components, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 1, 2022. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIF-123.

Reported: 2023-02-20 (February 20, 2023) · Model years: 2021, 2022

Consequence: The incorrectly-sized rear springs may buckle from over-compression. Incorrectly installed front springs may potentially cause damage to the front axle. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear Sumo Springs and relocate the front springs, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 21, 2023. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIF-128.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the hardware kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 21, 2023. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIF-129.

Incurable Electrical Nonconformity and Active Safety Hazard Four years ago, I reported a severe electrical integration failure to an authorized Tiffin service center. The vehicle’s aftermarket stereo integration harness back-feeds power into the Mercedes-Benz CAN-bus network, causing erratic flashing of the SOS emergency lighting, mirror puddle lights, and interior dome lights all night long. Because Tiffin failed to locate this defect, it created a massive, continuous parasitic draw. This system was so violently miswired that it destroyed th…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
