I was on my way back home from work. I stopped at a red light, when my car suddenly shut off and started making a noise and then the monitor said: engine failure and power steering low. I could not move the steering wheel. Everyone was honking at me because I was in the middle of the road with the car shut off. I put the car on parking and then I was able to turn it on again. It is concerning that the car shut off. This is clearly a safety problem with The Toyota Corolla Cross. The dealership seems to not want to deal with the problem. Other …

Car came from factory with non-functional fog lights in 2022. Fog lights are installed and steering column has fog light switch, but lights do not come on. Have heard from other owners that their cars also had non working fog lights and upon inspection at dealership, it was found that a relay was not installed in the factory. This issue has caused reduced visibility in foggy and heavily rainy conditions. It seems that multiple cars are missing the relay, and there may be many more that have not been caught yet. The tail lights on the Toyota Corolla Cross LE 2026 are not as bright as one would think they should be. I've been informed of this by a few passerbys and other drivers. The tail lights on the Cross are very dim and there only two. Very hard to see on a late night. Been told by other Cross drivers of this issue as well, and believe Toyota should make them tighter for the evening hours.

The engine stopped working. Happened already 4th time and on the fourth time I was reversing to park in the parking garage and engine suddenly stopped. Dashboard lights are on but couldn’t start the car. After two minutes and fourth attempt it did start. The third repair toyota mentioned they couldn’t duplicate the concern and my car is working fine till this happened. They don’t want to admit there’s something wrong because every time I bring it to them it’s working. So they keep telling me that they couldn’t find any problem. It’s really dang…

We came to a complete stop and the engine turned off completely. We got a message that said “power steering is low.” Input the car in park and had to restart the car. This happened twice that day. I believe intermittent wipers were on. I experienced 4 near-death experiences by this car. 1. 10/14/23 Car caught on fire. Car was parked and turned off. Everything inside was shut off. When I stepped out the car, the engine was still running but it sounded loud like a lawnmower. I went back into the car and turned it back on. Several lights and system malfunction messages displayed on dashboard. I turned off the car and everything inside shut off. When I stepped out the car, the engine was still on, sounded like a lawn mower, and caught on fire. Estimator from my insurance couldn't…

When driving in the rain and my start/stop function is turned on, my car will turn off and make a loud beep with a message stating “engine stopped steering power low”. The check engine light and the power steering light pop up on the dashboard and I have to restart the car. This happens in the middle of traffic and is scary to think that it can happen any time while I’m driving. My car has less than 15,000 miles on it. This has happened numerous times, but more and more frequently lately.

under normal driving conditions on a state highway the Engine Malfunction error displayed on my Multi-Information Display. The error indicated that I find a dealership and have the car inspected. The error would go off then come back during acceleration. after two days at the local Toyota Dealership I was told the Coolant Bypass Valve was stuck in the closed position and it would have caused stalling during acceleration and engine overheating at normal speeds. the dealership replaced the valve and flushed the 100K coolant at my expense of…

I had this issue 2 times so far, and I thought I was crazy since it hasn't happened since, but I noticed another report of someone else having the exact same issue. This prompted me to include my own report, as this could be a fatal flaw that needs review immediately. While I was pulling out into traffic from a stop sign to cross multiple lanes, my engine on my 2022 Corolla Cross XLE shut off without any warning. I was stopped at the stop sign, which the engine shut off as it's designed to. Upon releasing the brake, the engine started and I…

Other …

It was around 7pm. It was raining & wipers were on. Auto stop/start setting is on. I was at a stop light waiting to turn left. The light turns green and I try to go, but the engine stalled. I was unable to move forward into the lane, and turn the wheel. A sign on the dashboard showed up saying "engine stopped, steering power low". I try to the turn the wheel and was unable to, I tried to turn off the engine and the car shuts off. I turn the key again to start the car but it wasn't starting. I have a 2022 Corolla Cross XLE. There have been multiple occurrences where I will be stopped waiting to cross traffic. As I go to accelerate forward quickly, the vehicle begins to move and then the vehicle stops like it has lost power but the vehicle is still turned on without any warning lights or anything. You attempt to floor the gas pedal to get the vehicle to move to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic and there is no response for about 5 or so seconds until finally the engine kicks back on.
