The 3rd row seats in the Sienna do not stay stowed as there is no lock. This creates a very dangerous situation when braking. I just got this car a few days ago and already have issues. When I brake or go over bumps, the stowed 3rd row seat pops up a little. That's okay, until you brake. In one instance, I had to brake harder than usual during a traffic incident in front of me, and the 3rd row seats flew forward (up and out of the stowed position) and slammed into the 2nd row seats. The (PCS) Precollision System has been already set to LOW sensitivity, but every once in awhile when pulling in to oncoming traffic the vehicle would think there's still a car and just stalls for a few seconds (nonresponsive to acceleration pedal) leading to a dangerous occurrence where I could be hit by a vehicle because I've basically stopped in an active intersection. My vehicle is clean, so no dirt blocking the sensors, and I also own a 5th gen RAV4 without this issue.

The sliding doors will shut off after 60+ minutes of being left open. In order to close them afterwards, you must fight with the power closing mechanism which makes it incredibly slow to close. This is dangerous if someone is threatening you and you need to get in your car and close the door. Or if a swarm of bees is coming at you. It takes about 30 seconds to close the door when this happens. Toyota claims this is to save power but this makes no sense as an excuse as the rear. Liftgate can stay open indefinitely without problem.

The center console between the front seats has a design defect. When small objects such as a credit card, key fob, or coin are left on the flat surface of the console, they can slip through a gap into the internal storage compartment. Once inside, the object becomes lodged and physically blocks the console lid from opening, locking the owner out of the storage compartment. The console must be partially disassembled to retrieve the object. This is a design flaw, not operator misuse. The flat surface visually appears usable, and the owner's manu…

While driving my 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE with Sure Grip Push‑Rock electronic hand controls, the acceleration suddenly stops working without warning. When this happens, the hand control will not accelerate at all , only the brake still works , leaving me coasting in traffic with no way to speed up. The brakes on my '23' Hybrid Toyota Sienna seem to have a sudden acceleration when braking at times. Typically, it happens when braking going down a hill or around a curve (at slower speeds) and sometimes when trying to come to a full stop. This has caused me to almost rear-end other vehicles on several occasions and has also caused me to go slightly beyond the stop sign, putting the nose of my car in the street. It is not reproducible at the dealership. It has happened since I drove it off the lot in July of 2023 and happens randomly and witho…

Front brakes make a clicking noise that happens when accelerating and breaking, the brake pads may have some play or even the calipers may be malfunctioning. Vehicle is still under warranty and Toyota service center refuses to address the issue. They want me to spend $160+ to have them grease the brake pads, but they don't guarantee that this will fix the problem. On a fairly new hybrid van that has almost no wear on the brakes, this shouldn't happen, and when it does, Toyota should acknowledge and address the issue.

2023 Toyota Sienna occasionally, without warning, "lurches" forward at low speeds when braking. Problem with regenerative braking while braking. When coming to a stop the regenerative braking is engaged and sometimes the regenerative braking disengages before a complete stop causing a change in required braking force to stop the vehicle. This can cause a sudden jerk of the vehicle when having to press the brakes harder which can cause a whiplash movement.

multiple times this has been an issue. I stepped on the break and the car essentially leaps forward typically when going up down or straight. In November 2024 it happened while going up a hill slowly and I bumped into the vehicle ahead of me. My vehicle had no damage, but the car in front of me had to get a new skid plate and my insurance doubled because of it. Since the incident in November 2024, my car has unintentionally accelerated intermittently. finally, April 2025 this happened my car started shaking jolted forward, engine revving, and …

Brakes will intermittently lurch when coming to a stop with normal braking pressure. The lurch feels like the brakes have stopped working and the driver has to press harder on the brake to avoid rear ending the vehicle in front. Brake pedal feels normal the entire time. Dealership is unable to duplicate on a test drive since the issue is intermittent.
