We brought our 2022 Toyota Sienna in for service January 2024 for the driver's seat. The seat would make really loud popping noises that sounded like something was loose when the seat moved forward and backward. We brought the vehicle in, and the service technician discovered that the driver's seat assembly was loose and cracking. The technician removed and replaced faulty components of the seat assembly under warranty. The seat starting having the same issues recently, and we are concerned of an on going safety issue given the instability of t…

The 3rd row seats in the Sienna do not stay stowed as there is no lock. This creates a very dangerous situation when braking. I just got this car a few days ago and already have issues. When I brake or go over bumps, the stowed 3rd row seat pops up a little. That's okay, until you brake. In one instance, I had to brake harder than usual during a traffic incident in front of me, and the 3rd row seats flew forward (up and out of the stowed position) and slammed into the 2nd row seats. It was loud and scary. My child was sitting in the 3rd row (…

Anything laid on top of these seats when folded will be ejected inside of car. Hitting driver in the head. This is very dangerous. Already brought to dealer and complained and nothing was done. They said that's the way it is. Someone will die if this problem is not taken care of.

The sliding doors will shut off after 60+ minutes of being left open. In order to close them afterwards, you must fight with the power closing mechanism which makes it incredibly slow to close. This is dangerous if someone is threatening you and you need to get in your car and close the door. Or if a swarm of bees is coming at you. It takes about 30 seconds to close the door when this happens. Toyota claims this is to save power but this makes no sense as an excuse as the rear. Liftgate can stay open indefinitely without problem.

The center console between the front seats has a design defect. When small objects such as a credit card, key fob, or coin are left on the flat surface of the console, they can slip through a gap into the internal storage compartment. Once inside, the object becomes lodged and physically blocks the console lid from opening, locking the owner out of the storage compartment. The console must be partially disassembled to retrieve the object. This is a design flaw, not operator misuse. The flat surface visually appears usable, and the owner's manu…

While driving on highway, on 3/11/26, car powered down. I had to coast to side of highway. I was able to turn vehicle on after several minutes, but SEVERAL system malfunction error messages (hybrid, accelerator, pre-collision, tpms, airbag, engine…) appeared. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond 10mph. Once I moved it to a safe location, I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The dealership technician was able to replicate the issue during test drive. The technician apparently had the vehicle towed back to the dealership last night. …

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a serious and ongoing issue with my 2024 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD, purchased in April 2024 in Illinois. From the very first day, the trunk door has not functioned properly , often failing to close, randomly opening, or requiring manual force to shut. Despite repeated service visits across multiple states (IL, SC, NC) and investing considerable time, fuel, and lost income as a contractor, this issue persisted for over 18 months, creating safety concerns and inconvenience for me …

Looked online to see if other Sienna drivers had the same issue with the hybrid system. Brakes are accelerating a bit even when already pressing on the brakes. It has happened enough times to be concerning. We have not taken it to the dealearship as of yet but will be getting in touch soon , now that we know it's a known issue. No warnings from vehicle.

I am reporting a possible safety defect in my 2024 Toyota Sienna Hybrid AWD, VIN [XXX] . The vehicle intermittently surges, lurches, or creeps forward while I am pressing the brake pedal and attempting to slow or stop. It feels as though the vehicle briefly adds power or braking force momentarily decreases even though my foot remains on the brake. The sensation is not normal creep alone; it feels like a brief unintended forward push while braking. The problem is intermittent, which makes it difficult to predict, but it creates a safety concer…

Three (3) separate systems failed. 1. Upon seeing cars ahead of us slowing down, my husband pressed the breaks to slow down to avoid collision. When he pressed on the breaks, instead of slowing down or stopping the vehicle, the brakes failed to engage, and caused a surge that compelled the vehicle to lurch forward. The lurch propelled our vehicle into collision with another vehicle. 2. Also, the forward collision warning system failed to alert or engage the breaks. Our vehicle was stopped by the impact of hitting the other vehicle, not by its…

In general the braking system on this vehicle is poor. The van does not seem to want to stop unless you apply a lot of pressure on the brake pedal. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership who explained to me that the braking operation is normal. I replied “so the poor brake design was intentional”. The dealer said the braking system takes a little while to get used to. I have contacted Toyota corporate 5 times to express my concern about the brakes. When going down hill while braking, the brakes will release causing the car to lurch forward and then they grab again. It’s intermittent and Toyota has a TSB on it but the dealership with not fix it because they can’t duplicate the problem. It can cause people to take their foot off and of the brake pedal and trying to apply it again. Which can cause someone to rear end another car.

On rare occasions (about once every 500 miles), when uniformly applying force to the brake pedal, the deceleration suddenly ceases and the vehicle seems to jerk forward. To a passenger, it feels like the driver's foot slipped off the brake pedal, but the driver continued to provide the same uniform force to the brake pedal and lost all deceleration. Typically, the driver is startled and presses significantly harder on the brake pedal jerking all occupants forward. The brakes re-engage and continue the deceleration at a much higher rate. Toy…
