WHENEVER COILS GOT HOT IT WOULD CAUSE MOTORCYCLE TO STALL OUT. THIS CAUSED DRIVER TO SPILL OFF MOTORCYCLE. PROBLEM COULD OCCUR AT ANY SPEED. HAVE BEEN TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR STALLING PROBLEM. *AK
THIS COMPLAINT REFERS TO A MOTORCYLE WHICH FAILED 4 TIMES, TWICE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. BOTH TIMES I WAS VERY NEARLY HIT. I SUED UNDER THE MARYLAND LEMON LAW AFTER THE 4TH FAILURE. DURING TESTIMONY, TRIUMPH'S TOP MECHANIC IN NORTH AMERICAN, JOHN FIELDS, TESTIFIED THAT THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF THIS PROBLEM. HE ATTRIBUTED IT TO PEOPLE FILLING THE GAS TANKS TOO FULL. WHATEVER THE CAUSE, CONSUMERS WHO OWN THESE MOTORCYCLES NOW SHOULD BE WARNED. FAILURE OF A MOTORCYCLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO DEATHS. IT WOULD BE A SHAME…
Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
