Owner report 11164148 · 2018-12-31 (December 31, 2018)

CHANGING GEARS FROM 4TH INTO 5TH THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK UP AND SLIDE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE CLUTCH LEVER AND THE REAR WHEEL RELEASED. I MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR, WHEN RELEASING THE CLUTCH THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL LOCKED UP. THIS WAS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS I WAS TRAVELING AT OVER 65 MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE.

Owner report 11330239 · 2020-06-22 (June 22, 2020)

TRANSMISSION EXPLODED GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR UNDER LIGHT LOAD ON A COUNTRY ROAD. I NOTICED SOME FUNNY VIBRATIONS DURING THE SHIFT, AND THE ENGINE SPUN AS IF IN NEUTRAL WHEN TRYING TO ENGAGE 3RD, 4TH, OR 5TH GEARS (SEQUENTIAL TRANSMISSION).. THE ENGINE STILL RAN FINE, AND THE MOTORCYCLE RAN IN 1ST AND 2ND GEARS. I PULLED OVER, NOTICED OIL ALL OVER THE LOWER PART OF THE BIKE, REAR TIRE, AND REAR FENDER, AND DISCOVERED A HOLE IN THE TRANSMISSION CASE. IT APPEARS SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION CAME APART AND SHOT THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE CA…

2020 issues: Within 500 miles of ownership, front brake goes out, dealer bleeds, one week later same thing happens, then they warrantied a new brake master cylinder. Next in about 1000 miles the rear brake starts becoming soft (this is before the rear brake recall) Dealers bleeds... same issue again with the pedal becoming soft. I give up and ride the bike until winter. 2021 issues: Rear brake recall gets performed this year, as the rear brake had alot of air in it from sitting over the winter... how the [XXX] does a rear brake bleed (this is …

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
