Reported: 2023-05-11 (May 11, 2023)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 DT85 Digger Derricks. The Boom pressure limiter may allow the boom to lift loads above the rated capacity and over the Hydraulic Overload Protection (HOP) setting.

Consequence: Lifting loads above the boom capacity could overload the unit and cause instability, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to owners to test the boom lift pressure limiter setting and set it to the correct pressure, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 7, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3078.

23V357000 · Equipment:Emergency:Siren/Lighting/Strobes

Reported: 2023-05-18 (May 18, 2023)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Aerial Devices, Digger Derricks, Service Bodies and Cranes. Water can leak into the strobe lights, which could cause an electrical short-circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the light assembly for moisture and install a new fuse. If moisture is found or the light is inoperative, a light replacement kit will be installed. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. 23V525000 · Electrical System

Reported: 2023-07-27 (July 27, 2023)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Aerial Devices (AT, TA, L44, L45, LR8, AA, AM, AN) and D series Digger Derricks (DH, DL, DM, DT). The power inverter that converts electrical DC power to AC power may have been installed without a circuit breaker to protect the AC output circuit.

Consequence: Without a circuit breaker, the AC circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will install a 20-amp circuit breaker in the AC circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3103.

23V636000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Winch

Reported: 2023-09-14 (September 14, 2023)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2004-2023 DL42 and DL45 Digger Derricks. The incorrect hydraulic load holding valve may have been installed, which can cause the winch to lower uncontrollably and the load to fall.

Consequence: An uncontrolled load falling increases the risk of injury to personnel or others nearby.

Remedy: Altec will replace the load holding valve, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 6, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB 3113.

23V702000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Boom/Crane/Ladder:Turntable

Reported: 2023-10-19 (October 19, 2023)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023 DC and DM Digger Derricks. The turntable rotation gearbox may fail at high loads due to a defect in the brake flange casing.

Consequence: Gearbox failure may result in unexpected turntable rotation, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will work with the gearbox supplier to test and replace the gearbox, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 21, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB 3130.

24V681000 · Electrical System:Ignition

Reported: 2024-09-12 (September 12, 2024)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Altec Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and Pressure Digger vehicles. The chassis ignition circuit may be overloaded, which can result in a blown fuse and cause an engine shutdown.

Consequence: An engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will rewire the accessory circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 8, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3185.

25V562000 · Structure:Frame And Members

Reported: 2025-08-29 (August 29, 2025)

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. 25V890000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Fuses And Circuit Breakers | Exterior Lighting:Tail Lights

Reported: 2025-12-18 (December 18, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles. The electronic taillight module harness may have inadequate circuit protection.

Consequence: Wiring without adequate protection may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions on inspecting and updating the circuit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832.

26V071000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Power Distribution Module/Ipdm

Reported: 2026-02-06 (February 6, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Digger Derrick and 2021-2025 AM Series Aerial Device vehicles. The chassis engine may start unintentionally due to a missing diode in the Altec power distribution module.

Consequence: An engine that starts unexpectedly increases the risk of injury to anyone near the engine compartment during maintenance operations.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the power distribution module for a diode, and provide a repair kit as necessary, free of charge. Reported: 2026-03-13 (March 13, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.

Consequence: An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

Remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the incorrect certification label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3294.

26V409000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Carrier/Rack

Reported: 2026-06-26 (June 26, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The vertical center of gravity with poles in the pole rack was not calculated properly, resulting in an incorrect pole rack capacity rating.

Consequence: While using the pole rack at full capacity, an incorrect high vertical center of gravity during braking and cornering may lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

26V541000 · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking

Reported: 2026-08-21 (August 21, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019-2026 AN Series, 2023 AA Series, 2022-2026 Digger Derrick, and 2025 AM Series vehicles. The Bendix automatic braking system was not recalibrated after relocating the front radar box.

Consequence: An improperly calibrated system may have a delayed braking response, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will update the collision mitigation system with the revised the parameters, recalibrate, and test the system, free of charge.
