Reported: 2025-04-17 (April 17, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. An improperly seated retaining ring may cause the hydraulic cylinder to lose pressure, resulting in unintended boom movement.

Consequence: Unintended boom movement increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the counterbalance valves, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 13, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3223.

25V529000 · Structure:Body:Bumpers

Reported: 2025-08-14 (August 14, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Aerial Device, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The front winch bumper may be secured with incorrect bolts, which can cause the bumper to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A front bumper that detaches can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. In addition, the bolts can fail suddenly during winch operation, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will replace the bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 10, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3244.

25V562000 · Structure:Frame And Members

Reported: 2025-08-29 (August 29, 2025)

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. 25V581000 · Electrical System:Ignition

Reported: 2025-09-05 (September 5, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Altec Aerial Device, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The chassis ignition circuit may be overloaded, which can result in a blown fuse and cause an engine shutdown.

Consequence: An engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will replace the hydraulic tank heater relay, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 29, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3247. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 24V681.

25V629000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2025-09-19 (September 19, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device, 2022-2024 Forestry Body, 2022-2025 Service Body, and 2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.

Consequence: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the labels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 7, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN CSN-3251.

25V890000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Fuses And Circuit Breakers | Exterior Lighting:Tail Lights

Reported: 2025-12-18 (December 18, 2025)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles. The electronic taillight module harness may have inadequate circuit protection.

Consequence: Wiring without adequate protection may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions on inspecting and updating the circuit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832.

26V071000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Power Distribution Module/Ipdm

Reported: 2026-02-06 (February 6, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Digger Derrick and 2021-2025 AM Series Aerial Device vehicles. The chassis engine may start unintentionally due to a missing diode in the Altec power distribution module.

Consequence: An engine that starts unexpectedly increases the risk of injury to anyone near the engine compartment during maintenance operations.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the power distribution module for a diode, and provide a repair kit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3281.

26V150000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2026-03-13 (March 13, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.

Consequence: An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

Remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the incorrect certification label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3294.

26V170000 · Exterior Lighting

Reported: 2026-03-20 (March 20, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025 AC Series Crane and DT Series Digger Derrick vehicles. The harness intended to prevent Altec installed lighting from overloading the chassis lighting circuit was not installed, which may result in a loss of power to the body lighting or trailer lights.

Consequence: Loss of body lighting or trailer lights increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will notify owners to inspect their vehicle for the harness. If the harness is missing, a repair kit will be provided, free of charge. 26V247000 · Forward Collision Avoidance: Sensing System: Radar

Reported: 2026-04-17 (April 17, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2025-2026 Digger Derrick and 2025-2026 Aerial Device vehicles. The front end radar was improperly installed, which may result in improper operation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Active Brake Assist (ABA).

Consequence: While driving, the brakes may activate unexpectedly without the driver's input, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will inform the owners to inspect the front end radar installation and if installed incorrectly, instruct owners to take the vehicle to an OEM Chassis dealer to have the radar remounted and calibrated, free of charge. 26V409000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Carrier/Rack

Reported: 2026-06-26 (June 26, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The vertical center of gravity with poles in the pole rack was not calculated properly, resulting in an incorrect pole rack capacity rating.

Consequence: While using the pole rack at full capacity, an incorrect high vertical center of gravity during braking and cornering may lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with a safety alert placard, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 21, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3335.

26V541000 · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking

Reported: 2026-08-21 (August 21, 2026)

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019-2026 AN Series, 2023 AA Series, 2022-2026 Digger Derrick, and 2025 AM Series vehicles. The Bendix automatic braking system was not recalibrated after relocating the front radar box.

Consequence: An improperly calibrated system may have a delayed braking response, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will update the collision mitigation system with the revised the parameters, recalibrate, and test the system, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 16, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3356.
