THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURE HAS STOPPED THE ENGINE. MOST COMMONLY AT A STOP LIGHT AT A MAJOR CITY INTERSECTION, WHERE THE LIGHTS ARE LONGER. WHEN THE SYSTEM ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE, IT ROUGH IDLES AND THEN THE DRIVE SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE, CAUSING YOU TOO LOSE ALL POWER. THIS LEAVES YOU STRANDED, AND RISKS CAUSING SOMEONE TO REAR-END YOUR VEHICLE IF THE LIGHT CHANGES. PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, TURNING OFF THE IGNITION, AND THEN TURNING THE IGNITION BACK ON RESUMES ENGINE FUNCTION. …

I WOULD BE STOPPED AND WHEN I TRIED TO START AGAIN THE ENGINE WOULD DIE. IN ORDER TO START THE CAR BACK UP, I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART USING THE START BUTTON. I HAVE TO RESTART THE IGNITION AND PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN. ONCE, EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. SO FAR, THE ONLY CONSISTENT SCENARIO IS WHEN I AM ON THE SECOND LEG OF A TRIP. AT A STOP LIGHT THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF COMPLETELY REQUIRING YOU TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND HAPPENS WHEN THE AUTO ON/OFF IS ON OR OFF. LEADS TO DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN IN CITY TRAFFIC OR STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON HIGHWAY. TWO TRIPS TO AUDI AND THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES ON THE ENGINE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. Consequence: An incorrectly manufactured air bag may not deploy properly, and could also eject plastic debris into the passenger compartment, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Audi will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the passenger air bag score line, and repair it as necessary, free of charge. The recall begin March 26, 2021. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 70i2.

While driving yesterday, the MMI reset and included the dashboard. The dash completely froze for a couple minutes(including the speedometer), and then the whole system blacked out and restarted. There has been a check engine light on since I got the car in December. Havent been able to get a service appointment with a loaner. Also since new, adaptive cruise control works intermittently with a warning that a door is open(when all doors are completely closed).

STARTED VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT EXITED ONTO A MULTI-LANE ROAD WHERE TRAFFIC SPEED IS 50 MPH BUT CARS OFTEN DRIVE MUCH FASTER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE BUT STAYED IN FIRST GEAR AND WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT TO HIGHER GEARS. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO NOT MERGE AT PROPER SPEED WHILE VEHICLES WERE FAST APPROACHING. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT RELEASING AND APPLYING THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE STILL FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO FIND AN AREA TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND AFTER 15-30 SECONDS, THE CAR BEHAVED CORRECTLY. A SIMILAR SITUATIO…

WHEN MAKING A U-TURN AFTER COMPLETING THE TURN PORTION THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE. IT IS AS IF THE VEHICLE CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. THE FAILURE IS FOR A SHORT TIME BUT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED THEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE AGAIN ACCELERATES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 4 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. DISCUSSED WITH DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IS "THE NATURE OF THE CAR" AND THE SERVICE TECH SAID IT USUALLY HAPPENED TO HIM WHEN TURNING IN AN INTERSECTION AND HE WOULD "FLOOR IT" AND THE CAR WOULD JUMP.

THE TIME IT TAKE BETWEEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND THE TIME THE CAR STARTS TO MOVE IS EXCESSIVE AND IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS, DANGEROUS. The factory-installed mechanical water pump module suffered a severe internal seal and housing failure. This allowed pressurized engine coolant to migrate directly into the engine's vacuum control system and vacuum lines, damaging crucial emissions and vacuum tubing. This defect poses a severe safety risk as coolant entering the vacuum grid can cause sudden loss of engine power, erratic braking assist, and localized engine overheating while operating the vehicle at highway speeds.

AUDI WESTMONT LEASED ME A BRAND NEW 2019 A6 LAST NOVEMBER 12, 2018. THEY CLAIM "ALL" OF AUDI'S 2019 A6'S COME WITH "SUMMER TIRES" ON THEM AND GETTING AN "ALL SEASON" OR "WINTER" TIRE IS NOT POSSIBLE UNLESS I PAY ANOTHER $2,690.83 FOR FOUR MORE "WHEELS AND WINTER TIRES". I DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR TWO MONTHS ON THEIR "SUMMER TIRES" BRIDGESTONE TURANZA T005 SUMMER TIRES. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH LESS THAN ONE INCH OF SNOW ON THE GROUND, I TOTALLY LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR WHILE BRAKING. MY WIFE REFUSED TO RIDE AGAIN WITH ME WITH THE TIRES TH…

Massive safety liability here. My 2019 Audi A6 was on the highway traveling at 75mph on 4/25/2023 at noon when with no prior warning, all of the electrical systems started failing rapidly. In the course of 90 seconds, there was an electrical malfunction warning, quickly followed by malfunction warnings for steering, brakes, and cascading shutdowns of all systems like the transmission, ABS, Collision Warning, Lane Departure, lights, hazard warning lights, instrument screens/clusters, HVAC, windows- literally everything. A complete failure of eve…

The electrical system failed while driving at highway speeds on the interstate. Car lost power, all safety systems shutdown and I had to navigate the car while coasting off the road. Car would no longer start and left me stranded on the side of the interstate for 2hrs. I have since learned from the audi service department that the 48V generator had failed and caused this situation.

When backing up the car the cameras don't turn on and often times the collision sensors go off randomly. On the highway the emergency brakes go off randomly when a car passes by on the right-hand side of the vehicle.

On November 8, 2022, I was driving my vehicle to the Audi Arlington dealership to service an "Electrical System Malfunction" alert that had recently appeared. Approximately one mile into my drive the car completely shut down while driving. This happened while I was proceeding through an urban intersection. All systems shut down on the car simultaneously, including every screen, hazard lights, engine and power steering, to name a few. I was able to coast to a stop while only partially exit the lane of traffic. As the car was entirely nonresponsi…

While out of town the car gave an electrical system fault with a yellow warning saying find a dealr soon. Then shortly after the warning went red and while driving all systems in the car started to shut down. Steering, transmission, throttle, dash, everything went crazy. Need to to cross 2 lanes of traffic to get off main road where there was no shoulder to pull onto a side road, very scary without power steering and the transmission putting itself into neutral. Easily could have caused an accident with my wife and 2 kids in yhe car. At t…

I was driving on the interstate when the vehicle gave a warning saying "electrical system malfunction, contact dealership". I went to the dealership as I was within a couple of miles and they said it could be many things and they would need to evaluate it the following week. I left with the car and attempted to drive it back the following week on the scheduled appointment. The vehicle did not make it back to the dealership. While driving my 2019 Audi A6 Premium Plus I received error messages: "electrical system malfunction contact service", then "start stop system malfunction contact service", then "electrical system malfunction stop vehicle safely". I went on an Audi owner internet forum and read about others with the same errors. Reports from others indicated that in about 40 miles from the first message appearing, all systems will completely shut down including the engine while you are driving. This could leave you stranded in the roadway if you are not able…

While I was driving, the vehicle gave an electrical system malfunction warning. When I stopped and restarted the vehicle, the car reluctantly started with delays and a check engine light. I had to tow the car to the dealership. Upon inspection, they determined it is a generator issue, much like many other owners of 2019+ model year of Audi's. They do not have an ETA on the replacement part, and thus the car will be out of commission for weeks to months. I am lucky, as many other people who have experienced this problem have had their car comple…

I ACQUIRED THIS CAR (2.0T) TWO NIGHTS AGO AND ON THREE OCCASIONS (SO FAR) THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLS WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP. NOT THE TYPICAL AUTO ON/OFF FEATURE FUNCTION. I HAVE TO RESTART THE IGNITION AND PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN. ONCE, EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. SO FAR, THE ONLY CONSISTENT SCENARIO IS WHEN I AM ON THE SECOND LEG OF A TRIP. FOR EXAMPLE, I GET IN THE CAR AT MY OFFICE, DRIVE TO A STORE OR DAYCARE. GET BACK IN THE CAR, START UP, DRIVE A COUPLE OF MILES AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AT A COMPLETE STOP. VERY UNNERV…

MAKES FOR VERY NERVOUS DRIVING WHEN EVERY STOP LIGHT MAY CAUSE YOUR CAR TO STALL. MOST RECENT ISSUE THE CAR WOULD RE-START AND IMMEDIATELY STALL, AND THEN STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. *TR

Was driving and car gave me an Electrical System Malfunction, shortly after all lights (abs, esc, power steering, brakes) came on and vehicle died right after. I was traveling at 25-30mph and was unable to control my vehicle. I had to have the vehicle towed to a shop because it would not start after. After some research, it seems to be a problem with the 48V mild Hybrid system. Thousands of known cases this should be a recall! Extremely unsafe.

Within 5 miles a red warning light went on that stated pull over when safe then within 100 yds multiple warnings went off and i lost power steering, power brakes etc. I was able to get stopped but the car would not start nor was I able to even put it in neutral to have it towed. I researched the issue and it seems to be a well known issue with the alternator. There has been several state lawsuits in regards to the issue. But no recalls or in…

My wife was travelling on the interstate at about 75 mph, when all of the dash lights flashed in red that there was an electrical system failure. At this time, while driving in the fast lane, it seemed like all systems including steering and power brakes failed. She managed to make it across four lanes of traffic before the car died completely. Once we got the car towed to the dealership, they informed us that it was a failure with the 48V generator and that it would be at least 2 months to fix the problem because the part was on back order…
