Reported: 2022-07-01 (July 1, 2022)

Autocar, LLC. (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Legend, Xpeditor, and Xspotter trucks equipped with Sheppard Steering Gears. The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly,which can cause the gear to fracture.

Consequence: A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers with inspect and replace the steering gear, at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 29, 2022. Owners can contact Autocar's customer service at 765-489-5499. Autocar's number for this recall is ACX-2204 DC-2202.

23V196000 · Power Train:Driveline:Center Support Bearing

Reported: 2023-03-23 (March 23, 2023)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2020-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The powertrain driveline center support bearing hardware may not have been properly secured.

Consequence: An improperly secured powertrain driveline can detach from the vehicle and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, secure or replace the powertrain driveline support bearing hardware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2023. 23V372000 · Seat Belts:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2023-05-25 (May 25, 2023)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Autocar DC (Legend) trucks. The seat belt mounting fasteners may be improperly secured.

Consequence: Loose seat belt mounting fasteners may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, secure, or replace the seat belt mounting fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 19, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar's customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2302.

23V400000 · Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/Panel

Reported: 2023-06-02 (June 2, 2023)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2016-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2020-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The park brake warning light may incorrectly illuminate during an air loss event. As such, these trucks fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Consequence: A park brake warning light that illuminates incorrectly increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the pressure switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2023. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's numbers for this recall is ACX-2307 and DC-2303.

23V416000 · Steering:Column

Reported: 2023-06-08 (June 8, 2023)

Autocar, LLC. (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The steering column shaft may not have been properly welded.

Consequence: An improperly welded steering column shaft can separate and cause a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column shaft, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by July 25, 2023. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2304.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and DC (Legend) vehicles. The powertrain driveline center support bearing hardware may not have been properly secured.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The steering column shaft pinch bolt may not have been properly secured.

Consequence: An improperly secured steering column shaft pinch bolt can cause a sudden loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

23V699000 · Parking Brake:Indicator Light

Reported: 2023-10-17 (October 17, 2023)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2016-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2021-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The park brake warning light may incorrectly illuminate during an air loss event. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Consequence: A park brake warning light that illuminates incorrectly increases the risk of a crash.

23V736000 · Wheels:Lugs/Nuts/Bolts/Studs

Reported: 2023-11-02 (November 2, 2023)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and DC (Legend) vehicles. The wheel lug nuts may not be tightened properly.

Consequence: Improperly tightened lug nuts can allow the wheel to detach, increasing the risk of a crash.

24V162000 · Service Brakes, Air

Reported: 2024-02-29 (February 29, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. A software error may cause the low air pressure warning to not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: A low air pressure warning that does not function properly can result in driving without functioning brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the low air pressure warning software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2401.

24V261000 · Structure:Frame And Members

Reported: 2024-04-11 (April 11, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) dump trucks. The upper hoist cylinder mounting pin may fail.

Consequence: A pin failure can allow the hoist to fall, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, the hoist cylinder can disconnect from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, repair, or replace the pin as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 24, 2026. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2403.

24V262000 · Exterior Lighting:Hazard Flashing Warning Lights:Switch

Reported: 2024-04-11 (April 11, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The hazard warning lights may not function independent of the ignition switch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Warning lights that do not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the OFF position can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2402.

24V264000 · Electrical System:Wiring

Reported: 2024-05-06 (May 6, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The wiring harness may route fusible links too closely to other components.

Consequence: During a short circuit, the fusible link may ignite nearby material, increasing the risk of a fire.

24V383000 · Power Train:Axle Hubs

Reported: 2024-05-30 (May 30, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023-2024 ACX (Xpeditor) and DC (Legend) vehicles. The axle lock nut may be improperly secured, allowing the wheel end to separate.

Consequence: The wheel end separating from the vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

24V645000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Exhaust System:Manifold/Header/Muffler/Tail Pipe

Reported: 2024-10-29 (October 29, 2024)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2024 DC (Legend). The horizontal exhaust diffuser may be improperly positioned and vent exhaust toward the CNG fuel tank.

Consequence: Exhaust fumes can overheat the fuel tank, increasing the risk of a fire.

25V035000 · Forward Collision Avoidance:Software

Reported: 2025-01-29 (January 29, 2025)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023 Autocar DC (Legend) trucks. The forward collision warning (FCW) system may be inoperative due to a software error.

Consequence: An inoperative forward collision warning system that does not function as intended can increase the risk of a crash.

25V036000 · Suspension:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2025-01-28 (January 28, 2025)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Autocar DC (Legend) trucks. The cab shock absorber bracket fasteners may have been improperly secured, allowing the fasteners to detach.

Consequence: A detached fastener can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2026 DC (Legend) vehicles. The incorrect blower motor fuse may have been installed.

Consequence: An incorrect fuse may fail to trip, allowing the blower to short circuit and increasing the risk of a fire.

25V209000 · Service Brakes, Air:Supply:Reservoir/Tank

Reported: 2025-04-03 (April 3, 2025)

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: Insufficient air volume can reduce brake function, extending the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash.
