Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V622000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery:Cables

Reported: 2016-08-25 (August 25, 2016)

Bison Coach, LLC (Bison) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Premiere, Silverado, Laredo, Ranger, Trail Hand, and Trail Boss gooseneck horse trailers. The affected trailers do not have an inline fuse installed on the battery cable.

Consequence: In the event of an electrical short circuit, the battery wiring could overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Bison has notified owners, and dealers will install a 30-amp inline fuse on the battery cable, free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2016. Owners may contact Bison customer service at 1-574-658-4161. Bison's number for this recall is 9010.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
