Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

24V393000 · Wheels:Hub

Reported: 2024-06-03 (June 3, 2024)

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Custom Chassis MC, MT45, MT45G, MT55, S2C 106, S2RV 106, XBS, XCM, XCP, XCR, XCS, Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, 57X, and Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 transit buses, cabs, and chassis. The wheel hub fasteners may loosen and cause the wheel to detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.

Consequence: A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the hub nut retaining system, wheel end, and axle components, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2024. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA's number for this recall is F1002.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
