Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
00V078000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings
Reported: 2000-03-08 (March 8, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. BRAKE AND CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR HOSES MAY NOT BE RESISTANT TO BRAKE FLUID, WHICH COULD CAUSE FAILURE OF THE HOSES.
Consequence: SHOULD A HOSE FAILURE OCCUR, THE BRAKE FAILURE LIGHT WOULD LIGHT UP, FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF VEHICLE BRAKING EFFICIENCY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE HOSES AND, IF REQUIRED, INSTALL NEW HOSES THAT ARE RESISTANT TO BRAKE FLUID.
NHTSA campaign record ↗00V098000 · Air Bags
Reported: 2000-03-29 (March 29, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE MOUNTING OF THE AIR BAG ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) MAY NOT BE SUITED FOR LONG TERM RELIABILITY. IF LEFT UNCHANGED, THE MOUNTING COULD BECOME WEAK AND THE ABILITY OF THE AIR BAG ECU TO SENSE A CRASH WOULD BE IMPAIRED.
Consequence: IF A CRASH SHOULD OCCUR, THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AS EXPECTED.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL LONGER SCREWS, WHICH ENSURE BETTER TIGHTENING AND SECURING OF THE ECU TO THE BODY ELEMENT.
NHTSA campaign record ↗00V099000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip:Control Unit/Module
Reported: 2000-03-29 (March 29, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM)/ASR (TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT IS AFFECTED BY AN ERROR IN PRODUCTION BY THE SUPPLIER.
Consequence: THE ABS FEATURE MAY NOT FUNCTION AND COULD CAUSE THE BRAKE FAILURE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. ALSO, THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION FEATURE WOULD NOT FUNCTION CAUSING VEHICLE INSTABILITY UNDER VERY HARD BRAKING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ABS/ASR ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT.
NHTSA campaign record ↗00V340000 · Power Train:Clutch Assembly
Reported: 2000-10-24 (October 24, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE STARTER RING GEAR, WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WITH THREE MOUNTING SCREWS, COULD BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. THIS POSSIBLE FAILURE COULD BE CAUSED BY (1) THE FRACTURE OF THE STARTER RING GEAR ITSELF AT THE MOUNTING HOLES DUE TO AN INCORRECT POSITIONING OF THE MOUNTING HOLES, OR (2) BY THE FAILURE OF THE MOUNTING SCREWS. IF EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS WOULD OCCUR, THE RESULT WOULD BE FRAGMENTS OF THE STARTER RING GEAR BEING THROWN FROM THE CLUTCH AREA.
Consequence: IF THESE FRAGMENTS CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE'S TIRE, A PUNCTURE COULD OCCUR RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL (1) REPLACE THE STARTER RING GEAR MOUNTING SCREWS AND MEASURING THE STARTER RING GEAR MOUNTING HOLES. THE MEASUREMENT OF THE STARTER RING GEAR WILL DETERMINE IF THE CORRECT POSITION OF THE MOUNTING HOLES EXISTS AND IF THE POSITION IS INCORRECT, THE STARTER RING GEAR WILL ALSO BE REPLACED; OR (2) REPLACE THE STARTER RING GEAR WITH A NEW RING GEAR HAVING THE CORRECTLY POSITIONED MOUNTING HOLES AND THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MOUNTING SCREWS.
NHTSA campaign record ↗01V025000 · Unknown Or Other
Reported: 2001-02-03 (February 3, 2001)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING ERROR EXISTS IN THE INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS ERROR EXISTS IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT MONITORING FUNCTION OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE RED ELECTRONIC BRAKE DISTRIBUTION WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE.
Consequence: AS A RESULT, IF A BRAKE PROBLEM WERE TO EXIST, THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE AWARE OF IT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FROM THE VEHICLE AND DOWNLOAD UPDATED SOFTWARE INTO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MARCH 31, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FERRARI AT 1-201-816-2600.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2001: 0 complaints · 2003: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |

| 2001 | 0 | 0 | 0 |

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2001 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2003 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
